1st off we have to be able to play at a certain level , the level we have in our inner mind , I think this inner mind comes with the trombonists we listen to . What do we say aww I'd love to be able to play like that. In the process of learning these great solos we without realising incorperate their style of playing so it becomes a part of our own technique we develope over time and believe me it's a long game that takes years to master. I think that consistency is key that comes along with endurance . Speaking for myself it took years and my technique changed as the years went by . Metal to lip everyone n never give up , what you couldn't play last year are the warm ups for this year .

I'm from Portland, Oregon (Milwaukie) My life has been a whirlwind like a butterfly in a dust storm. I played the clarinet in 3rd 4th grade and hated it, it sounded awful so I couldn't wait to separate myself the stupid thing...now I'm 54 smoked like a chimney for 40 years, Dr. Valerie wants what's best for me and I just buck & kick like a mule...Then 3 days ago I was coming home and a lady was putting a keyboard over the fence and I spotted a case & I whipped a U'ey and when I seen the case I knew it was a ""HORN" !!!! (which one? No Clue) I was instantly Gob smacked like a "Child"... GOD dropped this Horn in My lap!!!... I opened the case, it was better than Christmas x1000 kinda feeling!!! The Regent! Trombone, out of Chicago...I set to work on it right away the pipes whit the sock's on was just black so WD40 and some steel wool I was able to bring it back to life...all the brass veneer is shot on the outside! .......the first time my lips hit that bit!?! (mouth piece??) I was married.......Then I had to find Help, my heart was bleeding (I wanna learn!!!) I needed a Doctor...BAM!!! I found you!...whish I had know about you before this, because you treat music like the GEM it is, I thank-you & the Lady that set the horn out I went back and had to thank her and tell her that horn is going to sing again helping me quit smoking...she said that it was her husbands. He has cancer in his chest now, end of life for him, but I made her cry when I said that I'm going to breathe new life into that horn! Sad, so sad, Paul, I'm going to keep that promise...Thank you for the time you have invested in these video's, You are a Rock Star!!! Like a Dimebag Darrel and his Guitar...Luv...

Hi Paul - always enjoy your content but finding the new format a bit busy and distracting. Just my opinion!

Agreed. The constant zooming in and text sound was annoying. Content was good though.

I wish I had someone like you in western KY. I need lessons. I'm starting off with a Blessing 6 1/2 AL mouthpiece. What do you think?
@PumilateVFX Жыл бұрын
The mouthpiece you start with generally doesn’t matter as long as it’s comfortable to you
