This is what I do, and I always recover faster than the typical stated times. By the day after an injury I start optional loading with isometrics using the injured body part as the limiter. I’m dealing with a high ankle sprain and am working to get back to hooping in 6 weeks as opposed to 8 to 12.

i just sprained my ankle yesterday what exercises do u do for recovery?
@lyfe49449 күн бұрын
@@6ZeeeDepending on the injury wait a min if it’s not at least at 60-65%. As for exercises try some single legged calf raises, heel on the ground 360’ rotations, & use a light resistance band & tug in all 4 directions (up-down-each side). Couple this with some light stretching of the injured ligament(s), hope this helps fam 🙏🏾

Ice is not advisable for sprain because of stretch muscle tissue, it will slow down the healing process. I have ankle sprain last week and now it already heals. 1week healing process only just take a rest, do not move your ankle in 2 days and in the third day start walking slowly and put hot compress and do not massage.
@sebrestrepo15 ай бұрын
wait so its not ideal to massage the ankle sprain. Just movement and heat?
@synedparangan9795 ай бұрын
I healed in 2 days. All i did was put voltaren the blue one lol i forgot which one that was, and compression on the foot. I also didn’t stop using my ankle, and tried to use it as much as possible with the least amount of pain through weight bearing (started w cane which was kinda torture). And poof, 2 days later i was able to jog towards my pts still w my voltaren and compression bandage. Im a medic. But i guess it depends on severity. My ankle started very inflamed.

ice is used to reduce and help eliminate swelling. after swelling is gone or minimal you use heat to increase blood flow which helps it heal faster.

@@Mmeluso15Wrong, ice should only be used if swelling is slowing the healing process (e.g swelling in ankle is so large that movement and elevation are not reducing swelling enough). It can be used acutely though for pain reduction but ultimately it does slow healing. It doesn’t really make much of a difference with or without ice anyways unless you are a professional athlete that needs a speedy recovery

use a castor oil wrap with cotton pad, saran wrap and sock to get a faster pain n swelling reduction. worked for me!! within 1 hr after wrapping foot, was then able to place it flat on the floor. within 5 hrs, able to put pressure on the foot on the floor. the next day was able to put some weight on that foot. amazing stuff!

@tempejkl11 күн бұрын
No it will not. Ankle sprains and fractures (usually come together - i broke my tibia and fibula, dislocated ankle, and tore 4 ligaments) require complex physiotherapy to recover from. I’ve been doing it since 4 weeks post operation (ankle fractures require surgery - i wouldve never walked again without surgery)
@ezzinemehdi416910 күн бұрын
@tempejkl I don't talk about fractures, just injuries linked to: muscles, tendons, ligaments...walking, cycling, swimming are enough to heal them. Bones are on another level, they are too strong to heal by simple exercises, surgery is needed of course.
