Very nice 😊 I can’t find the one hearing unless I think about it. Its like this with lots of things lately. When I ask is there distance, who’s hearing, what am I looking at etc.. my mind just stops. This ongoing presence is pretty amazing. I see now just how much our thoughts make things up. 🙂 Im curious about separation? being present all the time doesn’t feel separate from anything, it’s only when I go into thoughts for something then it feels separate I know it goes deeper than what I’ve got going on. 😃

Have had this mixed up senses experience for some years where it seems like areas of the body can hear things, or what I’m seeing has a sensation in some part of the body or with smelling too. Like looking as the river flowing has a sensation in the arms for example. It’s like the senses spread out and act like an interconnected field interacting with another field

I have difficulty with perceiving sound coming from everywhere and no where. I still perceive it as coming from the left or right above or below--a certain location. Can't get to this most basic step.
@nat9982 жыл бұрын
Hey, "trying to"... is a mental process, and the left/right; back/front are mind overlays. What helps is getting into a relaxed state of being, and then "feeling into", or "leaning into" sound. A noticing, without a need to define what this means to you (label, categorize it as an experience). This works beautifully with a piece of music that resonates with you. You can lose yourself, for real (be absorbed) and it feels amazing when you "come out". I love listening to long ambient albums, and I often loop them for DAYS. There's always sound in my house. Sometimes I'm plugged in 🎧 which REALLY amps up the immersivity. I am fond of looping Bach's "Well-Tempered Clavier" during the daylight hours, as it primes me to "settle into" a specific zone/flow. 😁
@SimplyAlwaysAwake2 жыл бұрын
the key to that is just sit with the sound experience. Then when the sense that it is left or right appears, look very carefully into what ity is you are actually referencing. Is it somewhere in the sound or is it a visual image in the mind even if a vague one, of space? If it is in the sound itself, or seems to be, then try to locate it precisely.

If there is no hearer, then there is no "hearing" either, and no "texture" doing the "hearing". This is what's suggested by the Buddhist message of "In the seen, there is simply the seen" or in this case, "in the heard there is simply the heard". Note that it is not "in the seen there is simply the SEEING," which is a fundamentally different perception
@SimplyAlwaysAwake2 жыл бұрын
You are getting stuck on the words. Do you experience seeing as fundamentally different than the seen? If so how so? Any word can be misinterpreted, the key to this is the experiential insight not the words used. For instance the word seeing could be interpreted as implying a seer (subject) sure, but if you have no experience of subject-object construct it will be clear. Further "the seen" can be interpreted as meaning there is an object "out there" to see which would also be dualistic. Again if no subject object construct is there then it will be obvious what this means. The key is not to just understand and/or take doctrine in an overly analytical and literal way but to realize the gist of what is being pointed to in your own experience ongoing.
@crappycigar96652 жыл бұрын
When there was "seeing" there was an experience of the process of seeing. Though there wasn't a person or subject doing the seeing, there was still a sense of "the seen" arising as a result of the seeing. One might have said that something was aware of the seeing. Perhaps something that was unseparated from the seen. No distance, so to speak. Once the attribution of the seen to a process or an 'awareness' fell away, there was no seeing. If there remains the subtle sense that the seen is somehow connected or dependent on something to which the seen arises, this may indeed sound like semantics or splitting hairs. Some will even insist that they "got it" and they're saying the same thing. Such is the inherent jeopardy of describing what can't quite be described. However, once even that subtle notion falls away, it makes no sense to describe experience in terms of an imagined "seeing" as those words simply don't apply. It is clear that they are describing something that doesn't exist. One might feel that they're misleading or overlooking the opportunity for further investigation.
@SimplyAlwaysAwake2 жыл бұрын
@@crappycigar9665 right we could say absolutely nothing exists, no seer, no seeing no seen, no perceiver no perception. We could also say nothing at all. Endless negation also misses the mark. Regardless, it sounds like you have an experiential handle on non-dual realization. If you think this type of pointing is inaccurate or you know a more effective way I encourage you to make videos or do some writing that helps people realize what is obvious to you. There are plenty of people thirsty for good pointing.
@SimplyAlwaysAwake2 жыл бұрын
@@crappycigar9665 and based on your description using the term “the seen” makes no sense either because there is nothing it applies to when it’s seen that the process of seeing doesn’t exist. The point is to realize the relational aspect of self is illusory, with that, whether you emphasize a subject, process, or object is equally inaccurate. Once the relational aspect (subject object experience) is dissolved makes it far easier to investigate the formless nature of all appearance. This is to realize perception/awareness is also a false construct/ empty experience. Perhaps this is what you are referring to but I can’t tell, it just seems like you don’t like the word “seeing” 😅.

Thank you. Need some tips. The sound still appears quite local, it's taking place over there, and either i am over there in comparison to here or here in comparison to there (what a bunch of nonsense right?) And there are other directions within the field where there is clearly no sound. Which makes me wonder how is the sound everywhere, in the whole body? With taste and vision it's often a bit easier.
@SimplyAlwaysAwake2 жыл бұрын
sisten closely into the sound to find exactly where the information of locality is originating from
@DPSAX952 жыл бұрын
@@SimplyAlwaysAwake its originating from primarily from mental images of the body etc. I assume there is a point when the mental image subsides and the sound remains.
@SimplyAlwaysAwake2 жыл бұрын
@@DPSAX95 rather than the mental image subsiding, the tendency to overlay that image onto reality and this take it as reality is what subsides. This makes a bigger experiential difference than you might imagine. Keep looking into it with different senses especially visual.

In order to hear the fullness of the infinite , the spiritual sound , the cosmic song ,the anahad naad . the sat shabd,one must learn the proper method. It is known by various names but mostly referred to as surat shabd yoga or quan yin method and the self realization fellowship of Paramahansa Yogananda called it the Aum technique. it involves a special method imparted by a genuine living master at the time of initiation. one must know the right way to listen within and what sounds to look for and which ones avoid . some lead to lower realms some to the higher . also one must know how to protect themselves . This method of inner hearing will enable one to hear very clearly and obviously the celestial music which is resounding all around and is the origin of everything .one will also perceive the the infinite light as well .it is the supreme method that leads to complete and utter enlightenment . one can refer to the teaching of 'Sant Mat' ,and also the Surangama sutra details the reason why this method is the most superior and how all buddhas use it enter nirvana. Good luck to all

If you are 💯 convinced of this, then it will be true in your experience, and cannot be changed. 😎 However, in my experience, it is not necessary to learn a specific method or technique to unite with the void/stillness and maintain the state. 🧘♂️ All paths can lead back to Source. Namaste 🕉 🙏 Love and Light 💚

@@infinitenothingness Those who sincerely yearn for eternal liberation from the cycle of transmigration will find this path . those who don't are nor yet ready for the ultimate . but that's fine. we have been around for countless lives and most will be for countless more. There is no hurry since we are eternal beings but for those who have thoroughly investigated and ascertained the transient and illusory nature of this world and have contemplated extensively about the pain and sorrow of recurrent births and deaths will seek liberation with all their heart and for this one must know themselves fully . the heavenly sound is our own true nature and that's why by contemplating it and merging with it we return to the source . only the cosmic sound can permanently subdue the restless mind . no other approach can defeat it entirely . it is very very powerful and the more we cleanse still more subtle layers remain . one can reach a very high spiritual level and still not be free from compulsory incarnation . but with the contemplation of shabd (inner sound) we can entirely vanquish the mind and all it's delusions and illusions . then it becomes our faithful servant if ever we need it while still in these lower destructible realms and after reaching that level known as sach khand ,sat lok or nirvana etc.. , we still have 1 percent ego so we still exist as an individual yet merged in the whole . from that state we can choose to voluntarily incarnate to help others or we can practice to higher levels. but all efforts to practice spiritually never go in vain . peace my friend
@matthewhu35142 жыл бұрын
I respect your opinion but i also know that if one does not find a genuine living master they will not secure eternal liberation . it's just arranged that way by the supreme being . The true masters like Christ and Buddha ,Guru Nanak , etc..Paramahansa Yogananda, etc.. etc.. are the 'word made flesh' meaning that they have completely subdued their ego and have merged their entire being in the quintessential sound stream . so they embody that supreme power and do the work of the supreme being. they are specially empowered impart this timeless method. They show us the way to become the masters of ourselves . most people listen to their mind and it's false concepts . by this meditation the true self, the soul takes control and subdues the ego mind and thus our true self begins to take charge of our life now and forever. don't delude yourself and think you will reach enlightenment without proper guide . if you don't find the true path in this life then one never knows if they will have a healthy human body again any time soon . it's not so easy to secure one . look at all the suffering all around you , the animals the humans who are bound in the suffering dream of life ad death suffering untold misery . even though we reincarnate , when we come back our mind is wiped and we have learn everything all over again . and there's no guarantee that our krama ill not lead us to an unfavorable rebirth . knowing this we should seek the true master and free ourselves forever. the real master never charge money for the initiation . it is always free of charge .there are many who claim to be full masters but not many have attained to the status of a sat guru . but there is small handful on earth right now. they always impart the heavenly light and sound free of charge and stress the importance of the veg diet and 5 precepts. look into the heart to recognize the true friend .
@SimplyAlwaysAwake2 жыл бұрын
I genuinely hope this practice you describe brings you liberation. However it is definitely not the only path, nor the "highest path" etc. Anyone who finds themselves thinking this way should really look into the very human tendency and motivation behind tribalism, sectarianism, group think etc. The reason I say this is not to be anti-sectarian but rather to help people dissolve obstructions and fixations that block their own path and this is a common one for some people/groups. If you dig into it with vulnerability willingness to see what is actually going on inside you, you will likely find a desire for specialness which is rooted in the emotion body. That is an outgrowth from the fear of not being special, which itself is rooted in an avoidance of acknowledging that we have a deep-seated fear of seeing that holding onto individuality, personal will and ultimately self (and all manifestations of it including groups we identify with), is intimately tied to dualistic experience and suffering. Once we see this the game is over so we hide it from ourselves. So I would challenge anyone who holds such views to challenge those views in themselves, you might be surprised at what results.

@@SimplyAlwaysAwake For those who have inner experiences of heavenly light and sound very obvious , we have no doubt we have found the ultimate . there is nothing closer to God or our true self than the primordial sound stream, it is the direct connection to the infinite. never mind , each soul has their own journey . i only offered this information in case someone might benefit from it . may we all find absolute peace and joy.
