Hi, great video. Do you have a sketch with dimensions of the bow form? Thank you! ☺️

Does boiled lindseed oil work as well as canola? I sealed my tri-lam longbow (Tonkin actionboo core with ipe belly and hickory backing strip) with 7 or 8 coats of boiled lindseed oil mixed a lil bit of Melted beeswax. I now plan to fire hardened the belly before I encase both sides in the thinnest clear fiberglass I can find

I just do that over a fire sit and forget works well for me and the heat treat seems to go deeper. I find the heat gun to be just a surface treat but goes all the way through with fire or at least half way anyway. Thad Beckum and Keith Shannon have a video about it if you are interested in it.

Yea I bought that video on their website. Wish it went further in depth on how to instead of comparing and showing results. I need to get an actually hickory stave and try it Instead if board bow

I'm curious how well this worked after you got it finished. Did it draw okay? did it change the tiller or draw weight? I have used my heat gun on three bows I have made but it never seems to get a good enough heat on the belly, or I am too chicken to go too far! Did using the oil make it heat faster or better? Also curious if you know how long you heated each of the limbs in this treatment. Thanks!

Is this bow made from a stave or is it a hickory board?

It was a hickory board. I was using those to help train myself with using card scrapers and the whole tillering process
