Thanks so much, Ladies!!!!! I bought a pair of jeans that had very specific stitching and distressing at the hem that matched the rest of the jeans, and I wanted to keep that so the hem would still look original. I am NOT a seamstress. I do not even own a sewing machine, but I was able to watch another video and learned how to do a hand-sewn backstitch that looks just like it was sewn on a machine. Couldn't have done it without you two!!! Didn't even know this was possible! Love the end result!!!

You just blew my mind! Thank you, thank you! I'm 5 feet tall and, in my world, there is no such thing as pants that don't need hemming, (even in petite sized). Very helpful and professionally produced video!

Oh my Gosh! Do you know how long I've been looking for a great way to hem my jeans/pants/slacks? I'm only 5' 1/2" and my whole life I've had to buy petite length and then hem even after that. I never liked the way my clothes looked after hemming the old traditional way. You've solved my problem. I just purchased my first pair of "Levi's" because now I know I won't ruin the look of my jeans hemming them the only way I knew how to do it. Also, I got to create a new album here on youtube named "Sewing Tutorials" and you're my first save to that album. Definitely you've just created a sewing monster! :) You have certainly earned a new subscriber! Thank you so very much!!

Thank you!! Since my lovely little 400 year old German seamstress retired I have had NO luck finding another who would original hem jeans. They would write down original hem, but when I would get them back...just a flat cut and tack hem. This video is so easy to understand and someone with no sewing skills and a cheap sewing machine can rock some original hems!
@adkgirly9 жыл бұрын
This is the only instructional that I have seen so far that shows the top stitching just the same way that I do it. It makes sense to do it this way. I also tack the side seams, but I do it vertically instead of on the horizontal. I am happy to see this tutorial. Thank you.

Thanks girls, your video is one of the easiest to follow, I'm from Italy (Verona) and thanks to you I sewed my irst hem with a sewing machine and it was a pair of jeans keeping the original hem :-) Thaks a lot!!

This was a great video and good directions for hemming jeans which I used to hate to do. It is very easy and quick to do. Having the five options of finishing was an added plus. I have three hints that I would use when hemming another pair of jeans. I would definitely measure both pant legs at the same time before sewing the first one to make sure they are the same size. When sewing make sure the entire side seam is going the same way as the hem. I thought one of mine was going in the same direction and it wasn't. I started checking the side seam from the top of the jeans down to make sure the entire seam would end up going in the same direction once it was sewn. I did a zigzag stitch to stop the fray and on one leg I trimmed the material first before zigzagging and on the 2nd leg I zigzagged first and then trimmed and I think that was easer, or at least for me. I was able to cut a nicer looking even seam.

You guys made that so easy!! I always just cut my jeans and then frayed the bottom (90s style) so it at least looked like I had done it on purpose and wasn't just messy because I hated how they looked when my grandma shortened them and I lost the original hem. I so rarely find jeans for short girls - just regulars or tall! This is awesome! :)
