great video, I love how your hair comes out! I do my own hair too (but not a professional), and one thing that helps me for the back, is having bought a standing mirror which I can set in front of my bathroom mirror (but slightly sideways) so I can see without having to hold a small mirror.

My tip for highlighting the back of your own hair- buy a music stand and prop a good sized mirror onto the ledge.. works well for me👍 It enables me to have both hands free rather than holding a small mirror and you can change the height of the stand and swivel it around too.

Hi, I’m curious what matrix color sync shade you used to tone to that color? I LOVE the shade of your color but couldn’t catch what you said the shade of color sync was???? Was it 8v medium blonde violet?I’m also a hairstylist just newly went blonde on my own during quarantine and have been searching for a color to tone with that’s pretty much identical to your blonde! I LOVE this shade!

Hey Jami, Great video! I just did my highlights and fussy about my color too but, i'm using shades EQ which as you know is tough to apply yourself! lol What kind of toner/developer/COLOR did you use? great tip about not taking it to the root. That is a beautiful color you have.

I love how your hair turned out. 🤩 My hair must be stubborn too bc when I get it done it’s ALWAYS brassy and they tell me to use purple shampoo. 😣 plus the redken shades EQ toners they use washes out of my hair like a week later and Thats washing my hair every other day. What’s your thoughts on using a high lift color on brass? I’m wanting to try your highlight front part method. I just spent $170 last week on my hair and it’s copper. I’m afraid doing slices of lightener, it might break off my thin hair. 😣 Would you use 30 or 40v with the high lift color? Your hair is the exact color I want. Nobody gets it right and I even show pictures. So frustrating. I have a lot of gray roots with probably a level six and they’ve always use a level seven which pulls brass also so I want to try level six color on my roots but I’m scared it will leave the lines. So seeing how you use your toner was awesome. 🥰

Lorrie Webster use a level 6 ash on your roots and youll have to lighten your hair with bleach again to get your blonde pieces lighter and not brassy

chelsey garrett matrix 8v in the color sync. My base is my natural (level 6/7)
@mulliganstew724 жыл бұрын
Great tips! May I ask what color is your natural hair? I tried bleaching today for my first time and I’m a natural level 3, the roots are colored level 6/7 (over natural + gray), highlights are level 8-10. I used 30v, no fouls, 30 mins process time & I got a very orange color. I didn’t have time to hit it again so I toned w/ Redken shades EQ 8N & it came out great! But wanna know how many times I will have to go highlight to lift because my hairdresser’s able to get it yellow in one shot.
@JamiSwan4 жыл бұрын
Mimi Ramone I’m a 6/7 (dark blonde to light brown). Probably best you were safer and left it on for only 30 rather then going too far but you probably could have left it on longer and foils keep the lightener from drying out and becoming “inactive”. Keeping lighter from drying out and applying heat via your blow dryer will speed things up. I go 30-40 mins under heat with 20-30vol or an hour without (not everyone’s hair can take that time though without getting damage). Everything depends on the hair and the product. You really don’t want to fry your hair so I’d say you did good! Try 30 mins with heat maybe and foils that would definitely kick it up a couple levels while maintaining your hair health.
@mulliganstew724 жыл бұрын
Jami Swan Beauty Thanks so much for replying! I’ll try that next time. Just doing roots so should be ok since they’re stronger than my ends. I didn’t even use foils last time, was just a test strip. Getting the hang of foils will be another challenge! My hair’s pretty dark so will def. try with heat & Leave on longer under close watch 😊. Thanks again for the informative content girlie!
