It has to be prioritized along with everything else. I'm sure with so many people working from home now and the need to instruct virtually, this may become a higher priority. Submit the feedback via Feedback Hub on Windows and that'll help with the prioritization. If enough people submit the feedback, that'll help to make sure it gets done.

This is a nice feature. I used the AtoHotKey method which worked very well on my computer, but this morning I was teaching through Zoom and my students did not see the mouse cursor with the yellow halo. Some students complained about a big black box instead of the cursor so they did not see where on the screen I was clicking. I will try this out when teaching in the classroom.
@boisvertlab16994 жыл бұрын
When using Zoom, make sure to share a desktop or a screen instead of a program's specific window. If you share a program's specific window, then by definition Zoom will only cpature what belongs to that specific window, which the cursor highlight isn't.

I'll add to my list of videos to cover. High level summary: I use PowerDirector as my editing software and you can insert key frames and define the zoom level for that key frame (most video software includes this capability). I use this for zooming in and out at certain points. It's a little time consuming, but works well. Perhaps a video at some point if enough people are interested.

Hello Kevin and thank you for hard work. It works perfectly but when I record my screen using Game Bar it's just a regular cursor that is recorded. It doesn't recognize it. Can you help please ? Thank you in advance.
@boisvertlab16992 жыл бұрын
Game Bar captures the specific window that you are recording, and nothing else. So you could put another window in front of it, and it wouldn't record this other window. The cursor highlight is actually another window, so you won't be able to record it using Game Bar. Instead of capturing a specific window with Game Bar (which can only capture what belongs to that window), if you want to capture the highlight you need to capture a screen (using another program to do the capture).

Great video. That Cursor Highlighter tool is exactly what I was looking for. One question with it though - Is there a way to make it work with Teams when you are sharing a window? If I share the whole screen, all is good and the audience can see the highlighted cursor. If I choose just to share an window (such as a browser) the cursor shows up just as the plain old cursor. Any ideas?
@boisvertlab16993 жыл бұрын
Hi, I'm glad you like it! As you hint at, when sharing a window, by definition Teams will only capture what belongs to that specific window, which excludes all other windows. Since Cursor Highlighter (and all other such programs) is just a simple colored window that follows the cursor, it cannot be captured in window-sharing mode.

Increase the pointer size itself in Windows settings is another way to make the mouse pointer more visible (without software/downloading cursors): 1) Open Settings on Windows 10. 2) Click on Ease of Access. 3) Click on Cursor & pointer. 4) Adjust the pointer size slider. This works nicely in corporate settings with restricted access to drive C. A word on Camtasia/SnagIt: However I observed that Techsmith's tools like Camtasia and SnagIt seem to ignore size changes when capturing. It's not so bad in Camtasia as you can specifically change pointer size in the editor itself. SnagIt on the other hand has trouble increasing the size afterwards so you might use Simplify-Feature and the simplified cursor icon anyway.
