Best price of advice I’ve heard for rails is pointing the tips of your skis at the end of the rail when you pop off the lip. Especially when going switch

Yeah that's what I do and it works really well

Aren’t u gnna just split the rail 💀do you mean like the angle of going on the rail, or like when you actually slide it
@tddzyx7070Ай бұрын
@@Stawexa they're talking about the angle you take into the jump right before leaving the ground (tip #2 in the video)

@@Stawexai think theyre talking about coming in from the side of the jump pointing your skis at the end of the rail before doing the 90 degree pop. if you come on straight you risk getting a ski caught underneath the rail which is probably the worst way to fall on one lol, sprained my knee doing that

All of of your observations are on point. I found #7 to be really interesting. As you’ve pointed out, weighting towards the front, or better yet being balanced is probably the most important aspect to riding a full rail. With that in mind, it makes perfect sense that your front foot should control the speed of the slide. I haven’t ever tried a rail, but I can see that getting that front inside edge to bite as you catch the rail actually let’s you control the balance point on the rail, and helps keep the trailing ski parallel with the front ski. 👍

which foot should be fowards? (i snowboard with left foot forwards, and my strong leg is my right leg,)
@elecreations9 ай бұрын
It depends which way you want to rail, both work. For you left foot forward would be most natural

I've been hitting tubes and rails now with modest success but I don't have much control so about 75 percent of the time I land switch. Is pedaling pretty much an answer to that?
@remarkablysquare3216 Жыл бұрын
yep, use a heel pedal to lock in and land forward

What about the difference between approaching centered with one ski on each side vs approaching with both skis on one side of the rail
@TheBagOTricks Жыл бұрын
For any feature that sticks up above the lip, you'll want both feet on one side. I usually suggest that even for ride on features!

Why absolutely no video talking about the ski cutting on the rail. I buyed my first pair of twin tip and everything i try a rail my ski cut and i dont even slide i just crash and it sucks

man i tried to do it today, did it twice on a tube, but it wasn full 90 degrees rotation. I dont struggle at all with weight distribution, but its some kind of a mental block for me to rotate 90 degrees onto it, maybe i was trying it on a way too small and already melting from the hot temperatures lip

You'll get it eventually. Just keep on practicing you won't get it perfect first try.
