I've hit bigger jumps. Once you get better at them, its about getting comfortable with your speed and finding the "sweet spot" of the landing. Its the point where you will almost feel no impact when you land. Sometimes you will see super steep lands, don't let it intimidate you as steeper landings are better to land on. I've been to a couple hills in eastern Canada and the landings are so small because they built the jump at the bottom of the hill. Those jumps suck as you will never find the right amount of speed. Lol

Much rather over shoot every day of the week instead of hitting the knuckle on a huge jump. Also, 3’s were easier for me than straight airing big jumps probably because I wouldn’t straight air jumps that often. Probably why I appreciate huge 180 or zero spins on big kickers. You should appreciate the changes in the snow throughout the day. If you’re hitting a jump that’s out of your comfort zone might be best to do so on a softer corn snow like a late spring day. Be aware of changes in snow speeds throughout the day. Where you straight line from one point in the middle of the day might be different later in the day if the in run is covered in shade. I remember hitting a decent size kicker at the end of the high rollers camp and the time it took me to get back to the jump after a trip up the chair lift the snow was that much faster that I sent it way over to the bottom of the landing. Yard sale everywhere to the point when I landed I compressed my back so hard from my tailbone hitting the ice it knocked the wind out of me. I’d still rather error on the side of over shooting than undershooting.

Jumps get reshaped differently every day depending on conditions. Talk to the people hitting it, and if they tell you it's shooting you up today, come back another day. Also, if you have to pop really hard to get over the knuckle, you'll need a lot more speed to spin it.
