Fine overview - I just got my unit today and needed more than the quickstart or manual offer. A few points that might help others: I had problems with the unit not seeing my USB music files. It tried to display jpg files on the USB, but could only show two of them. The rest were there, but grayed out. The problem was an obscure selection which somehow got changed on the setup menu. That item lets you select EITHER pictures or music. It won't see both, apparently. When I selected "music," the mp3s all played fine. Another weird thing is when you press the front physical button to see the rear view camera, it goes into that mode as a "home" mode. That is, if you don't press the radio button for about 30 seconds, you get the rear view automatically. The way to turn that off is by touching the X in the upper right of the screen. Then you're back to normal "home" mode of whatever source you selected. Another problem I haven't yet solved is how to use Bluetooth Audio to play songs stored on my phone. It says "no service' when I select that, even though my phone is paired with the radio and works fine as a phone. I suspect I have to activate a player in the phone first. That's how it worked with my older Pioneer. I don't get why that is, but I'll try it tomorrow. This unit is going to take me a while to get used to it, but I think it'll be fine.

What model of Pioneer in-dash receiver do you have? What phone do you have? To use AppRadio Live. First you must have Pioneer AppRadio Live App installed on your phone. Next the phone must be plugged into the compatible Pioneer in-dash receiver through USB. AppRadio Live does not work through Bluetooth. Please note, Waze is not available on AppRadio Live. This video was published in 2018. Waze stopped support for AppRadio Live in early 2019. There is a USB port on the back of the Pioneer AVH-601EX. You can see the back of the Pioneer AVH-601EX in this unboxing video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fZLQqYRroM6FiNk The 601EX also includes a USB extension cable so you can use the USB port in the vehicle. Sometimes this is installed in the glove compartment, or the center console of the vehicle. If you can't find it, go back to Best Buy and ask them to install the cable that came with your Pioneer AVH-601EX. Is there a way to hide the stupid radio analogue picture when on the radio screen? it hides the on screen info.

The area where the analog dial image appears changes based on the source. When album art is available, it will appear in the area. You can see it in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oX-Yn6OZj7yKqdk Also, you can open the radio station preset window. This will hide the analog radio dial image. It works similar to what you see in this Pioneer tuner video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n5WvZ4CFjcuBjKs I'm not aware of any other way to hide the source image. The parking brake is also known as the hand brake. You must engage the parking brake also known as the hand brake for this to work.
