I’m curious as to how you prepare all the materials. There seems to ne a lot of shopping, finding ressources online, printing, cutting, laminating… if it is childled, how do you have all that on hand and ready for when you need it ?

Our first and biggest lessons are often taught in nature. Stepping outdoors is a guaranteed learning opportunity even without an educational agenda or resources on hand. The next stop is referencing through the materials and books we already have on our shelves. We are on year 5 homeschooling and with 5 children, we are likely to own something for that moment. KZbin and Kahn academy are also wonderful resources as a quick stop for educational content. Our local library is just a few minutes drive and always equipped with what we need. Finally, there is a wide variety of online printables, many of them free or just a few dollars on sites like teacherspayteachers and Etsy. I have an HP Insta Ink subscription that saves me a lot of money and hassle of restocking printer ink. As a new homeschool mom I wanted to laminate everything. However, over the years I've learned to cut back on laminating. Also, that a paper cutter tool is my good friend. Often, the interest and eagerness to learn a certain topic isn't satisfied in just one day, giving me plenty of time and opportunities to research and prep.

I loooove this! You have such great ideas and I love how you follow the children's interests and supply materials to further their learning. Would you consider making a video (or posting a link to one that already exists) on the eclecticism of your homeschooling? What do you like about the different methods and how do you incorporate those qualities into your children's home education? I have dipped my toes into unschooling and waldorf, but Charlotte Mason and Montessori interest me, as well. Thanks for the great video content and inspiring people like me with your amazing homeschool. It looks sure looks like a fun place to learn!

How do your kids not run a mile? It's often talked about in our home education circles that the quickest way to kill a child's desire to learn is to jump on a topic and provide a load of resources for them and we have found this to be absolutely true no matter how enthusiastic they were originally. I could probably get away with strewing a book or two and showing them a video but any more than that and it'd totally ruin it and drive them away from the topic. This is no criticism to you, what you've provided is wonderful! It just amazes me how kids can be so different.
