Amazing so cool you can also get dyes that are compatible to synthetics like poly or anything that's man-made. iDYE poly is a great choice.

At the very end, you show the final result for a t-shirt and a tank top. Were either of them the one you experimented with as a spiral?

Gorgeous colors! Great experiment showing the different fabrics and how cotton vs polyester takes the dye.

I use Procion dye for my art work / not tie dying shirts : however by the end of the summer of working with it , all my work clothes were dyed in one way or another :) I decided to try traditional tie dying and the problem I had was once they hit the washing machine they basically all turned one color , I couldn't keep any white areas white , do you have any suggestions ? thx , btw -great video !

No, liquid dye should work also. Edit: I believe Amy's comment below is correct - you can always try liquid dye, but it may turn out quite different than it does with powder.
@amyfulton83236 жыл бұрын
Liquid dye won't give you as bold colors afterwards since the ice waters down the colors already.

Hello, I wanna do this on my sweater, should I follow the same procedures or I will put dye at the back as well?
@essyjae4 жыл бұрын
Hi! Personally, I would follow the same method, just putting dye on the front. When the dyeing process is over, check the back and see if enough dye went through - if not, you can do it again on the back :)

It looks pretty much identical on the front and back - the dye soaks right through. If the material is super heavy/thick it’s possible that it won’t be quite as vibrant on the back.

These results are amazing. This is exactly what I was planning on doing, even these exact colors. So this video was very helpful & motivating. So Thank You for this! Do you have any ombre videos, or can you do one please? I also wanted to do ombre. (Fyi, this will be my first time tye dying since I was a little kid.) Couple of questions... 1) Does doing the project in Fall/Winter weather effect the results? If not, any recommendations? 2) If my items have majority of polyester, is there a dye version specific for polyester? I just ordered items to Tye Dye, but they haven't come in the mail yet, so I'm not sure what the material is made out of.
