Thank you. This has really helped me out. I’ve became too used to holding onto a bar/wall for high kicks and realized I couldn’t balance my kicks after. Thanks to this video I’ve learned to feel and hold that center alignment.

Hello, man! Thank you for the tutorial. There is also very good chinese static exercise for training vestibular apparatus and balancing muscles. 1. Stay on one leg. 2. CLOSE YOUR EYES. 3. Stay for 2 min (gradually increase time to 10 min) 4. Change the leg.

Awesome video. You have a remarkable understanding of human body and how it behaves. This's one of the most neglected aspect in some martial arts schools - they just dive in to kicks and punches without understanding the mechanics of the body.

The reason why most people have a hard time with balance is because they use their heel which is just another joint, one has to use the front on the foot without going into tip-toes, the last is only a resource to maintain balance when the body has momentum, and I have to say that the balance is only achievable if there is a good understanding of the position of the hipbone which requires almost zero lordosis and a concentration of the load in the big toe's bones as if we were ungulates, just there is where we could experience a better understanding of the movement of the leg and specially of the knee which works pretty much like the elbow as it needs the ankle to work properly.

You're always so thorough and detailed i n your videos. Love it and your kicks look superb. When I was a teen I could hold a side kick 180.. 20 years later muscles have weakened and so has the flexibility but I'm determined to get back there. Does ageing affect balance? I hear it might...

Excellent video. Lot's of good advice and suggestions. Only one problem with the cup suggestion, heads come in various degrees of flatness. Mine tends to come to a point on top, and that makes it difficult to steady anything on top. Keep up the good work.
@SimonScher7 жыл бұрын
I appreciate the feedback. A good point. You could try putting the cup on your shoulders
@3D_Creations_UK7 жыл бұрын
Mahasattva27 in many countries carrying things o ones head is commonplace. Perhaps a wide shallow bowl supported with a small towel round the base. If you wabble you will of course still notice the wetness around your ears ;)

very helpful ...awesome video ..do you have a video on blocking techniques with the leg? Things like hooking kick and crescent kick?
@SimonScher6 жыл бұрын
Hi Dave. I am not 100% sure what you are asking. I don’t have any vids on using kicks as blocks, though it is on muni to do list. I do have a tutorial on blocking. It does cover blocking kicks like the hook and crescent kick. I also have tutorials for both the hook and crescent kick. The blocking one is called Blocking Tutorial. Please let me know if that helps?
