I literally ate the best orange I can think of! I felt like eating orange while watching this video so I hit the pause button and went to the kitchen. I felt goosebumps while cutting it and smelling it's fragrance. The level of saliva increased inside my mouth and I could feel it around my tongue... when I finally put the first bit in my mouth all my body shivered... It was quite overwhelming! :) Thank you for this experience!

This used to happen to me before making my own nut butter in a food processor. I'd try different recipes but it would usually be coconut oil and almonds and then I may spice it up with cinnamon or even cacao and Himalayan salt. Every day after school I'd walk home six miles and on that walk home sometimes I'd imagine the best nut butter ever with the best texture and taste. And it would always taste amazing.

I'm not usually one to comment on KZbin, but I really want to share this. I struggled with food almost my entire life, I'm nearly 40 now and can FINALLY say that I've healed my relationship with food for good. It took me years of eating almost nothing a day, strict diets, bingeing, I went Vegan for 5 years, and food was always a source of fear and stress for me. I thought I would never be able to experience what Teal describes in this video: eating intuitively, just for pleasure...I was so afraid to even try that and completely lose control. But I gave myself the chance, and boy are the results incredible... I've been in my ideal weight for almost 2 years and I'm eating EVERYTHING I love, when I feel like it, with no negative consequences whatsoever. No guilt, no weight gain... Just eat with the intention of Loving Yourself, and the results will blow your mind❤

I have struggled with food for over 45 years. When I was eating a plant based diet, I did not have the stop eating (you're full) cue. Now that I have found the right food (meat and animal fat) that actually "feeds" my body everything has changed. I eat, I get the "I've had enough cue" without feeling stuffed and I'm losing weight and regaining my health without even "dieting". This has changed my life profoundly, mind, body and spirit. This way of eating has had powerful effects on lowering my stress levels, much lower anxiety, my blood pressure is now normal, much lower blood sugar levels and an all around better outlook on life. Thank you for touching on this subject. I believe that most people do not understand the power of the food they choose to consume both positive and negative.

Ah yes, I can remember emotional eating around 7. I started obsessively working out when I was 11. 15-17 I was binging and purging. At 18 I started gaining weight rapidly as I had entered into an abusive relationship. I'm almost 30 and am just now realizing why I can't lose the weight/eat healthy. My connection to it is so strong. Food for me was the love and attention I couldn't get from my family, the friendship I craved and the relationship I needed.

To me, food unfortunately is something I try to distract myself from. I try to fast because I want to look, be and feel thin which to me is being underweight and looking into the mirror and feeling good about being tiny, but when I let myself eat I never want to stop and when I let myself eat for a while I'll always gain weight and then feel bad about myself. All the concepts in the video make sense to me, but they sound too good to actually work cuz I can't trust it cuz I might look a way I don't want. I have no idea how to change my relationship with food, but I'll try to do some things mentioned in the video.

I have missed Teal. I've been struggling with food in the US after returning to from months in Japan. People take so much pride in how much energy and care goes into creating the foods they eat in Japan. Good options are around every corner. In the US I have to search for good food. It IS here but it's much more intentional to find.

I had an unhealthy relationship with food for a long time. I was raised in a vegetarian household and eating at my friends' houses was often difficult for me as it was a much less common a diet back then. I stopped eating my mother's cooking in my teens and therefore was never with my family for dinner. When I started to work I would often have to skip breakfast if I was running late and would be working on an empty stomach for 6 hours. Starving myself became the norm and I told myself it was okay because of the health benefits fasting can have. I became vegan 2 years ago and recently my relationship with food had been the worst. I got completely sick of spending so much time buying groceries, preparing and cooking food, and then having a pile of dishes to wash after. Eating out as a vegan can be very difficult if you don't realise the importance of food and aren't willing to spend money on vegan food. I realised my priorities were all wrong and started to work on my relationship with food just a few days ago. Thanks Teal, One of my many guardian angels!

I knew I had issues with food but I certainly did not expect to have this strong of a reaction to this video - or any reaction. Ugh. Imma go try to calm down and then see what I can do first. It's really challenging because I've recently moved to Thailand from USA and am having to completely relearn how to shop, cook, even eat in some ways. I expect you know this kind of transition. So, I'm going to work harder on it and try to be a bit more diligent about shopping and cooking than I have been. Thank you for this 🙏🏻

Its People like you that makes a REAL change/difference in the world, one person at a time. What I mean by 'people like you' is people that get on KZbin to create videos and actually put their knowledge out there and teach/preach for the world to learn from so others can gain answers & succeed from your knowledge. Food is an amazing, beautiful thing. Perhaps you need a closer relationship with the ground or to travel around to different places and different restaurants in order to have a more holistic view. I had a food phobia because I had become incredibly healthy and saw unhealthy food as something wrong, until I started to see food in a more holistic way while still eating the way I wanted which was the natural way. I love Teal Swan because she is so fearless and takes on all shadow and heals it.

Edgar Cayce said not to eat when you’re sad. I think comfort eating creates an energy of sadness. The guilt involved creates obesity. Not the food but the emotion. I believe this because I got obese in a home eating the same as my thin sisters. I was also the youngest and the scapegoat.

This is awesome :) I grew up on a farm, my grandparents had a several hectares of land and grew everything from corn, wheat, potato, plums, apples, walnuts, all sorts of veggies and fruits as well as having animals.. Later on I tried being vegetarian and got really anaemic (despite taking supplements and going extra mile to get 'special' vegan foods that are rich in iron). I'd go by fridges in stores and drool looking at meat and finally allowed myself to have meat, but the gratitude I have for it is so deep and filled with respect toward animal, I never cook anything without thanking it first. Again much later on, I became fitness professional and banished anything processed including sweets and lots of carbs as well out of my diet, I was eating close to keto. Soon enough I got this mysterious headaches and vertigo and no doctor could figure out what was wrong with me, until after suffering with it for several years a nurse that was with me while having one of the severe attacks said: you need to eat something sweet.. she wanted me to have a sports drink (juck) but I settled on a few bits of chocolate... I got better within an hour. After that i kept my clean eating but would take something sweet or a processed carb (eg baguette) if I felt lightheaded or a bit dizzy but still feeling 'uh, yuck' I am putting this 'dirt' in my body... and 'oh why this makes me feel good when it should be really bad for me?'. So finally I found myself reading Teal's book Shadows Before Dawn and the sentence: ''Thoughts trample reality'' made me think about what i actually feel about sweets and some processed food.... and it seems sweets for me are really high vibration pure art food, so delicate, so decadent, glorious and magical that when i put a piece of it in my mouth I feel like a queen goddess, loved, nurtured, positively spoiled and so privileged I'm bursting with gratitude, joy and fullness... So... yeah, I love 'clean' food, but I love processed food as well and both are rally good for me :) This on top of many, many dreams of past lives in medieval times, gives me a suspicion that this might be my first incarnation after many lives in medieval times eg. I feel daily gratitude for softness of bed, for hot water, electricity, central heating and omg cars, trains and aeroplanes... just could this world be any more magical and astonishing :D

You are right 54321Truth. It is one way to look at your diet. To a vegan, they see things differently. Human beings are omnivores - we ARE ABLE to eat to eat plants or animals or nothing. it is up to the individual....

54321Truth I don’t think I’ve ever met a person that is on a healthy vegan diet who is overweight, or has cancer. if anything I’ve known vegans who have cured themselves of cancer, with plant based foods and were once meat eaters. Have even studied the science of this in school. I was once a meat eater and felt so shitty and sluggish eating animals, I then switched to being vegan and have felt easily 100x better, and feel more healthy. but that’s just my experience 🤷🏼‍♀️ I take you’ve been vegan before? otherwise your “facts” don’t really mean anything to me, I’ve been both vegan and meat eater and have a pretty good idea of what makes me FEEL better, to each their own.

food is like a drug to me. if i dont have what i want at specific times, i get very anxious and depressed, enraged, feel despair. and if i eat something healthy instead, i usually dont feel better for choosing something healthy, just left lonely and depressed.

Consider food quality too, and remember that different people have different diets and that your ideal diet may not be the same every day. You need to figure it out yourself what's healthy For You, and for no one else than you, if you truly want to be healthy. That's the message of me, Teal (as you can see from her video about promoting intuitive eating which I also promote), and Paul Chek (a well-known holistic health practitioner) and many more (William Woolcott for example). You don't have to have your intuition as the sole guidance system to your eating habits, but it does help a lot if you listen to it. There's Paul Chek's primal pattern diet where you eat according to your "feelings" about food (how you feel before and after meals, and whether you love food or not etc). Sugar is highly addictive and it's added to most if not all processed foods. If the processed food does not have sugar, there's a high likelihood it has some other very addicting industrial agent like artificial MSG. So DO NOT EAT PROCESSED FOODS if you want foods to be a source of actual enjoyment rather than something akin to drug addiction. Your feelings of anxienty, despair, depression and rage... you'd do well to remember that most of our gut biomes are comprised of 85% or more nonbeneficial microbiome and 15% or less of beneficial microbiome, when that ratio should be upside down for us to be actually healthy. Eating fermented foods and other actual probiotics that are not pasteurized nor cooked (not excessively at least, slow cooking may be fine in some cases), may improve that ratio, but you also need to cut down on processed foods and artificial sweeteners of all kinds, mainly white sugar and white flour (yes that's a sweetener). Sorry. I just went on a limb and assumed you wanted some advice, when you might not had. But I'll leave this here in any case, so that it doesn't go to waste if you do decide to take steps to improve your situation.

Hello Teal. Thank you. Could you please explain a bit more in detail why people (me for example) have food as comfort, do safely reasons, eat to feel loved or because food gives me the right to relax at least for the time span I'm eating.... and so on... So what I really wanted to satisfy that you could clarify the motivaion or subconscious drive for abnormal r unhealthy food behaviour more. Why do we eat wrong????? Please . Thank you.
