Funny thou, if you find rohai of Tomari (not Matsumora Kosaku who was from Tomari) and not Shito-ryu version, you'll see begining like in shisochin but it just looks like nukite-zuki while it's forming into ipponken and then finishes up into an open-handed kamae (Shito-ryu version punches with a straight fist). That might explain the downward twist while nukite-ing but what do I know, just overthinking.
