Tommie, your videos are great! Really helpful! We are getting back into snowboarding after a few years break, and are in our mid 60’s. Neither of us can ride switch yet but we are going to give it a try on our next trip. We went to an indoor slope last week and found your turning tips worked really well! 👍’Tap your knee, squash the bug! Open the door!’. We keep repeating it going down the run! Great stuff Tommie!! Loving your work! Ray & Sue (The ‘greys on trays!!’) 😀🏂🏂

I want to thank thank so darn much Tommie.....I've only been snowboarding a few times with no lessons and I'm already carving down black diamonds at high speeds because I've been binge-watching these videos....hands down funnest thing I've ever done.... I skateboarded years ago but I don't think that skill helped much..... Snowboarding is a different animal. Absolutely love it!

I just recently started learning how to snowboard. Yesterday would be my 3rd day. I do have a slight skateboarding background however without your videos I do not think I would have excelled so fast. I want to thank you for the hard work putting these videos out. I plan on copying and pasting this message to all the KZbin videos that helped me so don't be alarmed if you see this on multiple of your videos.

Thanks to you Tommie I’m about 70% there on my switch riding. I went from feeling super awkward when riding switch with zero confidence to no more awkward feeling and feeling much more confident (still not 100% though). I’ve pretty much followed your drills (the knee steering was the key for me) but I still need to work on the full range of movement, Ollie’s, and the airplane drill. I try to do at least one run switch now but in the beginning I dedicated a whole day including getting off the lift while riding switch. Practice makes perfect;)

I just got back on the board after 8 years, following a broken tailbone from boarding, and your videos have helped me feel so much more confident. My first ride out was triumphant and I'm looking forward to the remainder of the season and years to come! Thank you

Shout out to Tommie! Your videos have MADE the difference for me. 3 days on the mountain and I'm leaving pencil line carves on some easier blue runs. I'm controlling speed and already playing around with pressing and some butters. Truly, keeping your techniques in the forefront of my mind have helped me progress faster than I could have ever imagined possible! I've fallen in love with snowboarding and I think its gonna turn into my new passion. There is nothing like it! You're a fantastic teacher and role model for the community. If you're ever at Crystal Mt. WA, I hope I run into you! Never stop being awesome! Keep sending it bro! 🤙

Switch on and off the lift…. Now that’s effin’ genius! That thought never crossed my mind. Don’t know if that tip will help me carve better switch rather than constantly skidding my turns. Really need to clean that up. Definitely going to try these. Thx again for those out there just beginning, don't be stupid like me and just take off riding regular once you learn. for almost 25 years i don't think i ever linked a turn. i could take off and land switch and use it to get out of a jam, but that was it. i'm guessing about 10-15 yards max. now i ride it on flat spots on the mountain and it saves the legs.

After crashing pretty bad learning switch, I decided to give it another try. I made some progress by starting with falling leaf. This made me realize i didn’t put enough weight on my front foot (switch).

Hey tommy :)) went snowboarding for first time in 2 years during christmas and dedicated practice to riding switch which I have barely done before. So far not gonna lie it feels very weird on goofy and I don’t feel comfortable at all. On my normal stance I can ride prob faster than anyone on the slope with ease and good turns but switch is like completely restarting. Hopefully i’ll be going back during easter and incorporate some of your tricks cause I wanna be able to hit jumps and ride both ways 💪🏼💪🏼

Hi, do you or someone have a good answer for this? I’m standing goofy on skateboard and surfboard and regular on snowboard and wakeboard! But the funny part is when I’m riding switch on any of the boards I find it very difficult?? 😂 Someone has told me that the dominant leg is normally back on the board and my right foot is my dominant, so that means that I am regular! But I will naturally put my right foot forward if I stumble, so that means that I am goofy? 😂

Hey Tommie I've had this question bouncing around in my mind for quite some time and was wondering if you could answer it for me? Is it a bad Idea to set up my front binding slightly more forward then my back binding? The reason I'm asking is because when I set up both my bindings on the reference point I find I don't have much stability and can't really do a squat (with the board I'm currently using) and If I were to move both bindings outwards to the next available stance it feels too wide. So basically I feel like I need somewhere in between the widest stance and Reference. P.S. I do not have an EST system.
@DC17892 жыл бұрын
Also you'd be the first person to make a video about this just saying ;)
@jasminenissen71692 жыл бұрын
It’s very uncommon to see people have a longer tail than nose, so if you don’t have a directional board I would move the rear binding and if you do have a directional board I would move my front binding

I noticed you took time to mention that "Chicken and Waffles" are your favorite food ever and the idea of pancakes wants to make you vomit. I would ask that you really consider what is happening here. First of all, you are paying someone to slaughter a sentient being (the chicken) who values his or her life. That bird doesn't want to be killed and the act is painful and violent and unnecessary. Just because something is "social acceptable" doesn't make it morally correct. Please educate yourself on non-violence towards animals and veganism. Stick to teaching snowboarding and not slaughtering animals.
