If you like this style of learning, I made a class with my friend Ian on how to build up the confidence to play with other musicians. I'm really proud of it so check it out:
www.udemy.com/...
Enlisted the help of a seasoned jam band veteran, Ian Stich, to talk about how you can improvise a guitar solo armed only with 1 scale and the knowledge of common chord tones. Overcome the fear of playing with other musicians and ascend to the heavenly stratosphere of solo bliss.
Check out Ian's channel: goo.gl/kySv0X

Notes in C major scale are C D E F G A B (following major scale intervals W W H W W W H) Noted in Natural A minor scale are : A B C D E F G (following minor scale intervals W H W W H W W) where W = whole step or 2 frets H is half step or one fret away Same notes the difference being what note you start on! I like the series very well presented. ___________________________________________________________ The mediator between the head and hands must be the heart... Metropolis

Mike B They went up a step from C major to D major (half a step would have put them in C# major). That’s not related to what esteve said. Esteve was pointing out that major scales have a related minor scale which has the same notes, the difference being the note you start on. I.e. C major and A minor have the same notes, G major and E minor have the same notes, etc...

I have to be 100% honest, i have been stumbling my way through improvising solos for years. After watching this video i now listen back to some stuff i recorded and sounded like an amateur. You guys have really really taught me a major major lesson. Even trawling through endless hours of youtube videos on how to solo etc this is by far the best lesson i have ever watched. You guys are awesome. Thank you so much for making it so easy to understand and above all, FUN.

This is the most underrated channel. I tried to learn scales and solos before but most people teach that on an electric guitar and to watch them bend and do other stuff is so demotivating. Watching you playing on acoustic guitars in such an amazing way makes me wanna learn again. Thanx.

I've recently implemented trying to keep my fingers as close to the strings as possible and get rid of the 'flailing fingers' syndrome I and so many others suffer from. It's not easy, and I'm hoping gets better so I can play faster and with better technique

@radosawwalkowski5824
@radosawwalkowski5824 6 жыл бұрын
When I started playing guitar I always looked at people and thought "should those fingers be flailing all over?" I thought that it was incorrect, because on every instrument (especially piano) every player has his fingers relaxed and they don't flail - so I decided not to flail my fingahs when playing.

By now you might be a master but one thing that helped me was instead of think of them as single notes I noticed I could leave my fingers down then lift up one and leave say the ring finger down... pull off type of thing. But it made me realize I was moving my fingers when I didnt need to do so!

You don’t have to land on the root note of each scale though when the chord changes? You can land on the chord tones , right? So any note of the triad works, or not?

Am7 is in C though just land on an A C E or G all good. probably better a pent Am at 17 but thats a bit of a tall order.

Right on man, landing on any note in the key will give you a good feel. Try em all out and find your voice as a player.
