I use the small drum sander attachments on a drill for final fitment, especially on a fiberglass hood.

Not a bad idea, so long as you don't let it get away from you, with the tight tolerances for the nut/bolt area around the latch itself.

Good timing. Got to do them on my new car in the next couple of weeks. I've done them before but it always seem more of a struggle than it should be so good to get another perspective.

@@jpm It's a Volvo C30 which is aluminium as standard and I've removed most of the inner bracing for filter clearance so lining up the pins should be nice and simple with just a single skin now.

So these don't have the back ring that captures the nuts like the real Aerocatch latches? I love these latches ever since I installed mine.

Yeah, like I said, these came with the hood and are knock-offs of some sort, but all the moving pieces are the same. Every build that rolls out of my shop has them!

I have not however I don't leave these cars outside.
