Milk is one of the most underrated when it comes to this. My parents are both below the average height and most of my family relatives too, but I managed to get to 6ft 1 because i used to sprint as a kid, but more importantly was forced to drink milk everyday until the age of 18. Thinking back on it I'm quite grateful for it. Anyone reading this, genetics doesn't determine the entirety of your height potential, other factors definitely play a strong role. Thanks for reading!

My brother stopped growing around 18 - 19, then when he was 31 started complaining about extreme growing pains (especially at night time). He thought it was arthritic pain. But shockingly he ended up growing 2 more inches. Went to see his doctor, the doctor got scared thinking it was cancer or something, they sent him to specialists, the specialists said yeah it happens. Its not common, but it happens. So all the nonsense of growth plates and their knowledge of growth and the body is obviously wrong.

I’ve always felt nutrition probably played a key part of height. I’m Latino, my dad was born in the mid 1920s and he was about 5’8” which was actually kinda tall for a Latino man, back then. My mom was 5’4” which was a decent height. Born in the early 60s, I’m 6’, my two younger sisters are 5’6” & 5’9”. I can’t help but think food in the 60s didn’t have all the additives & genetic modifications like today. Both my parents were good cooks and we ate balanced meals with a wide variety of vegetables and meats, including many organ meats that were not typically consumed by Americans at that time. I’d say that a good diet gave us kids 4 inches of height on our parents.

But I had extremely high levels of zinc even when pregnant before I started prenatals (usually a growing fetus takes it all) I was always hungry as a kid but ate pretty well. Also, all the taller people I know seem to really like cereal. Also, stretching. Almost instinctively I would stretch after sleeping or even when getting sleepy. I noticed my toddler does it as well (also 90th percentile for height).

I'm certain I stunted my growth too as a teenager. I was growing up under what is called "difficult circumstances", with an alcoholic father and a depressed mother. My mum eg. absolutely never cooked dinner, we simply got bread with lard on it, or just nothing at all. Lunch was very often just rice with a few peas on it or other proteinless, low quality food. Then as a teenager, I fell into depression too and developed sports-anorexia when I did long-distance running. I was eating a very protein-deficient diet, basically only fruits and vegetables. I lost 20 kg of weight within 1 year when I was 17. Today, looking back at my troubled youth and childhood, I deeply hate myself for all these mistakes, I cannot forgive myself. I still reached 6'3 despite all this, but I know so much more would have been possible. I'm sure I could easily have reached 6'6 or so with a proper diet and a loving and caring environment. Just so much bad luck in my early life.

I believe I stunted my growth some as well. I at times got very dehydrated and also didn't always eat enough even though I could. I was just a teen who didn't know much better. I also started worrying so much about growing that I would try to lay around all the time thinking it would make it easier to grow instead of just staying super active and playing and exercising all the time like I always had. so this likely lessened my own growth hormone release. I know at 23 I was 5'1ish I didn't know I got any taller until I got insurance and was able to go to the doctor at 36 when the nurse told me that I was 5'5. I was confused and disbelieved her until I asked her what her height was and she said she was 4'11 (my height at 19) and I was looking down at her and turned around and saw that it was at 5'5. It was one of those measuring walls where you're barefoot on the floor. I've never been one of those people to claim a taller height than I was since a lot of people claim to be 2 inches taller and sometimes more than they are. I just always accepted that I was 5'1 until I saw that I wasn't. I happened to recently find a distant relative who is my granddad's cousin I talked to him about my granddad and he said my granddad grew in a similar way. It seems to be something that happened with certain people of German descent. My granddad was 5'8. He was a kid when my granddad was a young adult and he remembered my granddad being picked on by the other adult male relatives because they were all over 6'0 tall and it was unusual for a males in his family to be short. He grew to 6'2 from 20 - 25 years old once he left home for the army. I'm assuming it's because he got better nutrition when he was gone and that helped him boost his dormant height.

To go along with Doc’s protocol… As a licensed massage therapist, I can tell you that you can stimulate growth with foot massage/reflexology. Also hanging helps release pressure from the spine that gravity plays a big role on our bodies. So I’d say keep your diet in check, exercise, and getting regular bodywork done will have a great effect on growing taller. I would bet that you’d find benefits from using red light therapy/ photobiomodulation therapy as well.

He eats Cambell’s soup too. Sometimes he likes tacos. He loves pickles. He is very picky. He likes sweets but not as much as his little brother. When the boys eat with us, his grandparents, we serve real foods, meat, veggies and sometimes rice or potatoes. The oldest complains about the gross food we put in his plate. He is slowly learning to broaden his palate, but it is frustrating to see him reject the good foods.

You boys are 5'4 at 14 though. Perfect time to figure out how to grow more. I didn't start puberty until 14 years old so I also got some lateness but from 14 I grew from like 5'4-5'5 now I'm about 5'10 with good posture. I searched up so many things to grow taller, I now basically accept this height (which isn't even bad), in fact I'm pretty tall compared to the average person when I walk around. In college though it's a little tough seeing all these 6 foot plus guys. Go do stuff. Sleep full 8 hours, stretch a lot, swim or play basketball, eat a LOT of food (but healthy foods), and at the end of the day, consistency and positive mentality. Good luck buddies.

Basically all of the indoctrination and programming most of us went through with High School was probably more detrimental to our mental and physical health than it was helpful. I remember how incredibly painful it was getting up so early to go to school. I remember feeling like I was never getting enough sleep. I definitely remember not being satisfied with meals and probably always wanting more meat but instead filling that hunger gap with sweets. I remember the tremendous stress of school work and staying up super late to finish huge papers or studying for tests. I remember hoping the weather would be bad so sports would be cancelled because I was so tired and had too much work to do. All those crucial developing years when the body/mind needs delicate nutrition and rest but instead is bombarded with stress and nutritional deficiencies . Then we wonder why our Civilization is now falling apart. We're damaged people and there's only so much we could have done to avoid the inevitable overpowering mind control of the current time.

@@NazTheGreat Yeah exactly. We're imprisoned in the school system during crucial developing years and then spit out at 18 years old when we're expected to suddenly somehow whip up a career, home, car etc. but we were taught no life skills basically. No emphasis on nutrition, no mechanical skills, no financial skills, no cooking skills, no gardening skills, farming skills, hunting skills. No skills are taught that would actually make us truly self-reliant, healthy, and independent of government. People who suffer from Laron Syndrome can't grow more than 4 ft tall. They have IGF-1 deficiency at birth. From this, one might conclude that IGF-1 is critical for growth. (As a side note, they are life-time guaranteed to be cancer free as well, since the same hormone is used by tumors for growth).

I’ve always wanted to grow taller because i have tall classmates, their height starting from 6’3 and going up to 6’7, and i understand there is genetic limitation in height and growing, also i love playing basketball, i also workout very often, almost every day i go for 15 kilometer run. I’m trying my best to avoid sugars and i do intermittent fasting. i’ve had fast metabolism since the day i was born and i generally don’t have any health problems, nor do i have overweight problem, i don’t smoke and i rarely consume alcohol unless it’s someone’s birthday party if i do consume i only consume like 1 cup. my weight is 135 lbs. I ordered x-ray of my hands and my growth plates are open. I also consume 3 eggs a day and try my best to stay on healthy diet, i also get high quality sleep, i sleep 8 - 9 hours, and i take zinc supplements in blend of all minerals, my question is that can i consume bread or grain product maybe once a week? or a chocolate and how often so, I’d really like to hear your answer and i’m very worried. thank you May god bless you doctor ❤️

I'm 5'3 at 26 years of age. I was born pre-maturely at 7 months pregnancy and never got breastfed as my mom's milk was infected and not to be consumed according to medical's analysis And growing up, I don't remember drinking any milk . Coming from a broken family, being poor and having relatives which were so ignorant and still are when it comes down to nutrition, I grew up consuming a lot of low nutrition junk food and sodas. Exercising wasn't a thing for me growing up and sleep patterns were very bad. At 15 I was overly obese and probably type two diabetic. Also, I grew up on a lots of stressful environments and probably cortisol was high af. Now at 26, while I know a thing or two about nutrition amd body, my knowledge is hard to swallow, as this won't benefit me in to increasing my height I never got. From my mom's side, I'm the tallest one of my relatives atanding at 5'3 Maybe my height comes down to just genetics. My mom used to say to me that I resemble my dad a lot, and as per his height I don't know how tall he is, but for what I know I can guess he was around 5'5 or max 5'7 My life is miserable and I get depressed and hopeless as I fade in my society or any society for that matter I get turned down from a lot of jobs due to my appearance My social anxieties are in great abundance. I once flew to Sweden at 21 and I felt the worst I've ever felt in my life. I never saw anyone short as me or shorter, even Swedish kids at 14-15 years of age were taller than me. I'm not jealous of it, I just hate this world and our modern societies where for a short men , he is non existence, despite what one's soul holds

During the day played lots of sport , after having a delicious meal then went to bed. I slept at least 8 hours a day during the summer, then bam 💥, from June to September , I grew about 2 inches.. Every since then , my mom contuned to use this formula on my height. When I started at college I grew to 5’11” , way taller than 5’6” the doctor predicted. I kept drinking beef , pork , strew even in my college days, now I am about 6’1”.
