Hi Jackie, Another wonderful video!! I really need this salve right now and am anxious to make it!! And thanks to you, I have the dried plantain on hand because I ordered some when you shared in your other video about about how plantain helped with GERD. And oh my goodness...it really does!! Thank you!! Now I know this salve is going to be a real gem!! Love, Mary

Hey Mary! You can get a good infusion by “cooking” it in a double boiler or in a small dip crockpot on low. When the plantain gets “crispy” you have a good infusion. Probably several hrs but just keep checking it. Then you can use it for your salve. When you need some sooner than later🤗. God bless and love you sister in Christ!

A friend of mine, pours up some of her plantain salve into lip balm tubes for her grandchildren. When they get a bite or sting, they can easily go get it and apply it themselves. It's also handy to carry with you on a walk or picnic. I haven't done that yet, but it's on my never ending list.

linda chandler that is a great idea! Thank you for sharing that😊. I will have to do that for my grandkids and some for all my girls’ purses🤗. Boy do I know about those lists🤣🤣🤣

I like to say plantain was my first love of weeds. We have always mixed it in our spring greens, but I was grown before I discovered what a miracle it was for itching. During the summer I probably have a blob, sometime 2 or 3, of chewed up leaf stuck on me almost all the time. I jokingly say if I had known about it when I was a kid I would have looked like I was molding all summer long 😁

linda chandler I LOVE the sweet little herb! I never thought about using it as a green but it makes perfect sense! I can relate about sticking leaves on our bug bites😂. Thank you for taking the time to comment. It really blesses me. God bless you❤️

Thank you I have just started to dehydrate plantain and this salve will be the first thing I make from it. I have the broad leaf and should have enough within the week. Thank you and God Bless you. I have just subscribed and rang the bell. Now on to part 2 and look forward to more videos I see Mary's Nest is also a fan and that is a great endorsement for sure. Coming from Montana USA.

Thank you Jackie! This has been my winter project, I have a variety of infused herbs and oils that I have been making soap, lip balm, lotions and creams with. I came back to watch your plantain tea video and found this. I'm going to watch Part 2 now. So far, nothing is growing here in my still snow covered Idaho yard, but soon I will harvest my own.

Don’t you just love infused oils? I keep several kinds going in the pantry all the time. Plantain is starting to grow here and I also sowed seeds that I saved last year. What a blessing! Thank you for taking time out to comment🤗. That is such an encouragement❤️. God bless ya!!

Jackie I think you know everything. You really impress me with your knowledge. Actually you make me feel dumb lol. I never would have thought about making salve and if I had, I never would have thought about using plantain leafs. Until this video I had never heard of avocado oil. Now I want to buy some because I love avocados. But I don't know what I'd do with it if I had it lol. It sounds yummy though. Maybe I could just drink it. I was going to ask what you used salve for, then you told us. I do not remember ever using salve for anything, any time in my life. I get stung by probably 10 red wasps every year, they are bad out here. But I am not allergic so a red wasp sting to me is like a bad mosquito bite. I use to have honey bees and I never suited up, not even the mask, when I worked the hives. But, I get bit by water moccasins and copperheads too and never go to the doctor so maybe I do not need salves lol. Nevertheless, I watched every second of your video and thoroughly enjoyed it. You are a smart woman.

Awww Stan you are so kind! The plantain salve absolutely works wonders for wasp and bee stings. We try to always have some on hand. We have red wasps really bad too. I hope I never get bit by a snake!!! Our guineas help us keep the snakes away!!! God bless you friend!

Thank you Miss Vera! Infusions are so easy to do and a great skill to know. My follow up video on making salves will be posted in a few days. Very simple process as well. I think if we make things too complicated it can discourage someone from trying. No need for that🤗. Thank you for the kind words! God bless!!❤️
