I'm a building inspector in BC. If someone called for framing on this I would fail it unless the plumbing, mechanical and electrical were roughed in first. In my experience 90% of framing deficiencies are damage by trades. To approve the framing ahead of trades could be potentially approving notched joists and studs which are undetectable at insulation inspection.
@T3hderk873 жыл бұрын
Interesting, that does make sense that additional structural reinforcement would be necessary once holes were punched in the studs to make way for electrical, mechanical and plumbing.

@klmbuilders53855 жыл бұрын
@REALBIGBOY997 I know what Tyvek is. I was asking "why" is plastic sheeting draped over the walls.
@johndough19665 жыл бұрын
The top floor ceiling (attic) requires a continuous poly vapour barrier, just the same as any exterior wall. The "sill poly", as we call it, is required sandwiched between the top plates of all interior partition walls on top floor so that the vapour barrier is "continuous". Later, the insulators will install a poly on the ceilings and seal it to the sill poly.

It depends on engineering. Some walls/sections of walls can be deemed braced wall panels, which need blocks/fastners at seams. Other sections that are not BWP (aka sheer panels) do not even need plywood technically. Now this is for Michigan, but may apply elsewhere.

In a week I was cleaning, than helping with moving shit and nailing, than I was cutting when the previous cutter quit. When someone doesnt come in I'll frame the walls and someone new will cut for me. Just be persistent and drive to the big builders jobsites. I actually sacrificed a corporate job with a big GC to learn how to frame. Idk why but i have a fascinating with framing carpentry lol. These vids are cool, but you will learn more in a week than you will ever learn on youtube by actually doing it. I am actually trying to find a crew that frames up big apartments down here in ATL at the moment, framing spec homes is the same shit over an over. Lastly get the book "Framing floors, walls, and ceiling by fine hombuilding." That book will teach you everything you need to know.
