Never in a hundred years would I have guessed that under the outer shell of a Camaro would look like that. Amazing! I'm sure all the holes, bends and creases are for a reason, hats off to the people that make that happen. You gonna miss working on it when you finish? Thanks for another great video, be safe.

I hate to admit it but I was worried when everything was cut off. But then I got over it and got to work haha. I really enjoyed working on it. I was glad to get it done. Now my dad can get busy on the bodywork. So it’s going to be good.

Hey there Mitch, Wow, very impressive so far! I hope he lets you drive it when you're done 🙂 Take care, Dan

Thanks Dan! Oh yeah I hope so too. I’ve never driven a Camaro. That would be cool for sure.

Is it nice to be able to go back and forth between steel and fiberglass projects?

It is nice to change it up from time to time. But I really like working on vettes. I know them very well.

He has a long way to go to become a good tech working with steel!

Lol it was my first time rebuilding a steel car. I think I did a good job. The end result was nice. Like Gene Winfield everyday is a school day. As soon as you stop learning or trying new things you may as well hang it up. I build corvettes and this was my first Camaro. Idk what you want from me 🤣

You've done another great job on that panel Mitch , this car is moving right along . I bet it;s eaiser to do than a mid year birdcage , maybe not , it's all work that you seem to enjoy . I would rather watch than do , LOL Keep those videos coming . Get another birdcage in , so much fun , To watch !

Thanks Bob! It’s been a lot of fun. I’ll be honest it’s easier in some way and harder in others. I like that the aftermarket makes everything for Camaro bodies. That’s very helpful. It would be a lot easier to build vettes if they made the pieces that I always have to make from scratch. At this point I have 2 cages wrapped up and Overkill is well on its way!

Ive been struggling making the quarter fit on my 67 camaro, cant get the door gap even, or the trunk, frustrating.
@MidYearMitch Жыл бұрын
I had to add some steel rod to the edge of the trunk. The body line by the trunk had the incorrect angle. So I welded in a little rod and ground it smooth on top of the 1/4. That solved that problem. It was rather difficult to get the door to fit the 1/4 properly. You can always add some rod to the door as needed. The reproduction parts are nice but they aren’t a perfect fit. Good luck!

Do you know if a 69 quarter panel will fit on a 68 camaro?
@MidYearMitch11 ай бұрын
Great question. I don’t see why they wouldn’t. But I don’t know for sure. I know the cars did change on the outside but I believe the inner structure is the same. If you change quarters to 69 you would most likely need to change the taillight panel to a 69 too. If you do go down that road I would check and make sure the doors will match up, roof, wheel tubs, trunk floor. Check part numbers in the catalog to make sure what parts will work and what you would need to change.
