What size nuts did you use as spacers. I have seen a lot of reviews saying the shield rattles when driving and/or acclerating.

Sorry. I don't recall what size I got.

Ok. I installed it yesterday. Mine is a "cat defender" that i had sitting in my garage for two years. I think that they are out of business now. BUT it installs just as simple as the guys in the video show. Took about an hour including wiggling my way under and out from under the car. I used ramps instead of jacks/stands. The hardest part was setting a 1/4" pop rivet while laying on my back with my arms raised over my head. Fok that was a pain in the neck. I did not need spacers.

I wish someone told me this was a common thing that happens with priuses and that I could've get a protection shield before getting mine stolen last night:/

I don't live in the best of neighborhoods so I thought of these as a deterrent. Already had one of my vehicles stolen.

i doubt u would have done it tho. cuz i said the same thing but read about the prius being a big target and thought 'it wouldn't happen to me' so i didn't care UNTIL it did happen to me and after months and 4k$ i got a shield lol

Even with this guard they steal the cat.

What if you need to take the shield off? how do those rivets come off?
@AutoSensation Жыл бұрын
You would have to break them off

It sure looked like you were using a floor jack to raise the vehicle. It also looked like you did not use jack stands. Safety first. Always use a block or jackstand in the event that the jack fails.
@AutoSensation Жыл бұрын
Yes. Jackstands were used on the sides. Left the hydraulic jack is there as backup failsafe. I didn't want to just use the jackstands.

@AutoSensation and safety glasses. When working under a car there is all kinds of stuff that can fall into your eyes in addition to the metal removed by the drill. Thanks for a great video! You saved me $150 in installation expense.
