A catch basin is connected to solid pipe to then discharge the water in a better location. Never connect a catch basin to a French Drain.

Hello from Orlando! How do you decide when to pipe the water out to a low point like this with the SDR 35 versus installing a French drain? If you went French drain, would you take the same route?

I don’t think I’ve seen you add catch basins or sediment basins to your systems the way guys who use corrugated do. Is it necessary to have catch basins or just an add on for low spots?
