My hardware brother from another mother. Yep that first one is always the "loser". I love your cart but would love to know how you get that heavy thing on and off the truck or how you deal with multi floor buildings. We use the grey rubbermaide carts and they never have enough room and/or storage. As a side note; ADA requires 1.5" between any position of the door handle to any obstruction, like a pull. (guess how I know something so dumb) Thanks for sharing

Thanks bro for sharing that ADA thing. I use something called “portable telescoping wheelchair ramps” to load and unload the cart from my van. They work great and come in different lengths. I think mine go out about 10 or 12 feet. When working in multistory buildings with no elevator I will usually park my cart at the stairwell and then use either a plastic cart on the upper floors or even just work out of a bag with all my tools in it. I do have the option to pull out all my drawers also and then carry up the empty cart and then all the drawers and put it back together but I almost never do that. 😎

What type of cylinder and cam was used at the interior? Does this work with a schlage cylinder?
@drewinstallshardware10 күн бұрын
These were Schlage large format IC. The outside cam was the regular storeroom type (I’m not sure of the different names of the cams). The inside cam was skinny and short! 😆 I hope that helps. But yes the inside cam is special.

Question: what size do you predrill for tapping 12/24?
@drewinstallshardware4 ай бұрын
I think the official answer is a #16 bit. The closest bit I am carrying for that is 11/64 and 3/16. I think 11/64 is a little small and 3/16 a little big. So it can depend on how thick the material you are tapping is. On a frame I would go a little bigger and on a door I would go a little smaller cause the metal is usually thinner on the door. I also get supplied with really awesome cutting taps that work great. That’s a very complicated answer to a simple question 😆. Try 11/64 and if it’s difficultly to tap try 3/16. And if the screw holds you are good! 😎
