How to Install or change a Graphics card and remove drivers AMD or Nvidia
Installing a new graphics card is normally an easy task and can be done in a few minutes, but if you are having problems with the install process or getting error messages or crashes, the 10 stages shown in the video should limit that or actually repair the problem.
Get you drivers for graphics cards here (this is not for APU on onboard graphics)

I used to do the DDU in safe mode when updating my AMD GPU drivers. But for the last six months or so I simply check for updates within the Adrenalin software and let it download and install new drivers. I've had no problems doing it this way. Yeah, I know. I'm getting lazy in my old age. LOL

Why rebooting into safe mode like that, when the DDU software has that option build in: Run program/software, select in presented drop down menu "Boot Options" the second choice aka "Safe Mode (recommended)" and then hit the left lower button "Reboot again to Safe Mode". PC will take a recovery point and reboot then into safe mode.

Great video! My PC has a 5600g ryzen cpu and I am using the cpu's intergated graphics. I am to upgrade my system with a seperate gpu in the near future with an AMD 6700 gpu. Do I have to delete old AMD drivers? Furthermore, the monitor cable should be connected directly to the new gpu ?

you can leave the existing drivers and just install the card, plug your monitor into the gpu not the motherboard

As a noob of switching gpu's I made the mistake of pulling out my amd and installing my geforce before removing amd files. It's kind of a mess. Can I reinstall my amd graphics card and start again, or did I really mess things up. Help.

just use DDU and clean up the files, after a few reboots you should be fine

I'm having bugs where my 3080 may or may not work, but there are times where it stops working and the only thing working is my integrated AMD graphics. I notice on afterburner it list my 3080 as GPU2. I tried disabling my integrated graphics it said changes need to restart and when I did now I get no pictutre on either

have you got a monitor connected to the motherboard? it so don't just connect to the GPU or it will disable the GPU

@@mikesunboxing i had the dp cable in the gpu, but nothing popped up. When i plugged the hdmi back into the mobo, it came back on again. I don't know why the integrated keeps interfering.

I'm afraid to run the DDU cleaner now just because when I did before it all when black when I went to restart it even though I wasn't even use the integrated graphics. Its the integrated graphics from a 7800x3d. When I first put it together i installed some drivers for the mobo and did some updates before I moved my 3080 over from my older computer. Just in case something went awry. Yesterday when i came home my monitor had a dead screen. Usually I just log off my comp, and turn off the monitor as I've done for the past... 20 years, but when I came back from work it was dead screen and everything seemed frozen. Then I had issues for the whole now trying to get it to run up correctly. At one point I started and restarted the computer a few times and no signal from DisplayPort. However as soon as I hit the bios key and it goes to bios, a picture shows up. From there if I save and reboot, even if I changed nothing, it boots into windows. I'll give a few days and see if things run stable. I went into bios and in the pcie section I disabled the "IGP" or whatever its called to keep it on the .. whatever acronym for the GPU, which I think is "PEG" on MSI boards.

That's what I did when I replaced my old Shappire Radeon HD 6450 for the Zotac AMP! GTX 1060 a couple years ago. Very effective method. Q: If I replace the 1060 for a RTX 3060 (EX), I have no need to replace drivers or may it be better to do it? Thank you very much, Mike and Kath!

Why do these "how to" videos so often recommend the installation of risky unknown third-party software (like "DDU")? I wouldn't touch that with a barge pole! The simple procedure is to download the new driver and don't install it yet, then remove the network cable (assuming no Wi-Fi) so Windows doesn't download a driver you don't want, remove the old driver, swap out the cards, re-boot and install the new driver then reconnect the network cable. Safe mode indeed! Ridiculous.
