thanks for the vid. been on nvidia since my 1060 3gb, currently on 3070 and just got a deal on an asrock 6800xt. didnt want to do a complete PC reset and this way should work great. i'm not into raytracing and the 16gb of vram should keep me gaming for a while. side note: liked checking the other comments and noticed most recent gamers switching from nvidia to amd cards. not sure if it was due to cost/value or performance, but all seem happy following your tutorial. great job.

Great video, very easy to understand and follow. There is an easier way to get into safe mode though. If you hold the Shift key while clicking the reset button, the computer will take you straight to the Troubleshoot step of your guide. Not a huge difference but it does save 4-5 clicks.

@@slumberslime6540 You would have to get the same gpu as the the drivers because even know the old one gave out you wouldnt be able to just plug and play sadly so if you had a amd card you would have to go with AMD

Couldnt you just skip the whole restarting and save mode thing when you already replaced the Nvida gpu with an AMD Gpu, and having the monitor connected to an integrated GPU by a... lets say intel CPU?

You need to be in safe mode so it can remove all the drivers, otherwise windows could be using them.

i followed all the steps showed in the video very carefully, i wanted to upgrade my 1050ti to a rx 6700xt. after installing the new gpu the pc boots up, but it doesn’t show anything on the monitor, and keyboard and mouse are not powered. im using a 700w power supply. i tried to put back the 1050ti and still the same problem. i think and i hope that the new gpu isn’t broken.

Try resetting the cmos on the motherboard. Sometimes they can be a bit weird.

I went from nvidia to amd today actually. I picked up a used 6800 for cheap and did this driver cleaner. Worker like a charm. Now I have amd drivers and am very happy. I’ll fine tune it to get maximum performance

How can you check if your psu is compatible with your gpu?

You would need to lookup the graphics card online and check what the minimum requirement is. Then there should be a sticker on the side of the PSU telling you which one you have and it's ratings.

so theoretically if i had a 750 watt psu, could i get any graphics cars aslong as it doesnt exceed 750?

@@aadilismail9192 The graphics card specifications will tell you it's max power draw and then the recommended PSU you need. It could be a max power draw of 300w but they recommend a PSU that's 700w to handle it and everything else. If the PSU recommendation is a 750w and you have a 750w or higher then you are good to go.

I believe the AMD Factory Reset "should" remove all previous AMD drivers but if switching from Nvidia to AMD you should probably run the DDU.

I had a problem where after replacing the gpu, I was stuck at windows startup (does not even have the loading animation but just the logo). I removed all 4 wireless dongles, hard restarted and it works fine now Leaving it here for anyone that might have the same problem 😊

Most of the time it's just plug n play as drivers don't load on hardware that doesn't match the Hardware IDs and once you make the swap just remove any software and drivers you aren't going to use has worked for me and i've switched between brands back and forth quite alot

I had to take out my graphics card, go into the BIOS setup and make sure to select Use Integrated Graphics instead of the auto setting so that I could reconnect to the monitor with the card in and install the drivers.
