@heikkipibels2224 жыл бұрын
Cuz I have heard that you need a decent power supply for that but I am not sure
@Maraksot784 жыл бұрын
As long as your current PSU (power supply unit) can provide the correct amount of power your new graphics card needs to operate then you don't NEED to update any other hardware in your PC. That being said... if you have an old CPU you run the risk of bottlenecking your new graphics card. If you don't know what a CPU bottleneck is and why it happens I made a video explaining it not too long ago you may find informative. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rnbGfql_dtpsY6c The main concern is you go and spend $500 on a graphics card and your old slow CPU, motherboard and RAM then limit how many fps your new GPU can output. Rather than getting your full $500 worth of performance out of it you'll only get the same performance as a graphics card that costs $200 or $300, meaning you put a more powerful graphics card in your computer than the rest of your system can support. The other issue you could potentially run into is if your motherboard is so old that the firmware on it doesn't recognize your new graphics card as a video output device and therefore cannot output anything to your monitor. This can often be fixed with a motherboard BIOS/UEFI update but sometimes the only solution is to upgrade your motherboard which then means you need to update your CPU and RAM as well. Personally my recommendation would be, if you're buying a high end graphics card then you also want a high end CPU and RAM to go with it. Putting a brand new 1000 horse power engine into a 20 year old Toyota Corolla just doesn't make sense. That old car doesn't have all the other high performance equipment, i.e. transmission, suspension, wheels, tires, exhaust, etc. needed to actually make use of all the horsepower that engine can output. Computers are the same way. Putting a brand new high performance GPU into a system that has a low performance CPU, RAM, etc. is going to limit that GPU and keep it from ever running at it's top speed.
