How to Install a JB4 in an N54 BMW 335i EASY! Under 20 minutes (Remove DME)

In this video, we are installing a BMS JB4 G5 on my friends BMW 335i. I've installed and uninstalled my share of JB4's and it usually only takes me about 20 minutes start to finish to install or uninstall them! They are easy to put on and are a pretty cool addition for your N54. Along with the JB4, I also recommend doing a Backend Flash and also have a video showing how to flash that using an iPhone.

He bought this one used for about $200 bucks so it doesn't look the prettiest but it gets the job done. It's time for my friend to get a new steering wheel now! What do you think, keep the stock or upgrade to a sport with paddle shifters? ☺️

Thanks for the help! I used this tutorial to REMOVE a jb4 that the previous owner had. I enjoyed it for a little while, but it gave me lots of problems & frequent limp mode, to the point I just disabled it. I've been running mhd only for a while and there's been no problems or limp mode! So I'm getting rid of it. I plan on going Motiv Reflex later down the line anyway, for when I get bigger turbos, PI, e85 hardware, & a second fuel pump.

@@ysljay9061 make sure all the settings are right. If you have a backend flash, you gotta use one setting and if you have stock flash it’s another. Also have to make sure to input what car it is installing it for the gauges

Followed your video when installing mine , after it was on drove the car for 15 mins parked it shut it off now it won’t turn back on. Any idea what this could be maybe i fried a fuse or something? Tried jump starting it and nothing

Is it still cranking? Any codes? It could be a loose wire somewhere or maybe a blown fuel pump fuse. Also check the codes if you can

Check to make sure your power is good and then replace the buttons if it still doesn’t work!

The blue connector in the beginning? I wouldn’t worry too much about it as you don’t mess with it for the JB4 to work! You should be fine :)

I would remove the battery first to be safe but worse case you’ll be okay without doin that either. I usually don’t disconnect the battery because I forget haha

@@caseyard7143 pretty much you turn the key on with engine off and hold the gas pedal down for 30 seconds and then you turn the car off, let go of the pedal, and wait 3 minutes before starting the car

You talking about the pin? You can always splice into it as well if needed!

@@tunerworld yes the pin I had to splice the brown wire to the red power wire due to the pin breaking now I want to take out the jb4 and I need to install a new pin and take out the splice

If it’s missing I would just splice into the wire. Or you can contact BMS for a new one maybe!

MSD80? You may have mad some bad MOSFETS to begin with or did something absolutely horribly wrong
