If your whole video is about how to install the mount, whats the point cutting out the issues you faced and telling us how you overcame those issues? You had issues with the nut not tightening and then you edited and removed everything from there until its all setup and ready 🤷🏼♂️

Before you do this, run the nut around on the bolt a few times until it’s smooth. I have a belt sander that I used to get the rubber the perfect size. (Also not in a cone shape, use a washer that fits into the hole. The deeper the ball stem the better. The tighter the fit of everything the better. As little cracks as you can have means the rubber won’t sneak out.

Anyone know why my part can rotate around freely? Not the actually X Grip part, but the ‘Stem kit’ ball part! I’ve tightened it up but it doesn’t seem to get any tighter?

Take the washer off the top from between the rubber and mount and slap a dab of expoxy on it the put it back in, adjust the ball where to want it then let it set to harden up, problem solved

Strip the thread in the upper part or the stem . it keeps the screw from spinning in order to pull in the peace that expands it ,just drill it out

I just got it and same issue. I kept shoving it and trimming it. The rubber instead bulges up over the flat washer pushing it out the fork stem instead of holding it in place
@FrozenHaxor Жыл бұрын
@@Killing4food I had that too, you need to go up in size of the washer, or get oversized one, put a fine thread bolt through it and nut on the back, chuck it in a drill and rotate it against sandpaper to make it smaller, it has to fit almost snug into the stem hole or else the rubber creeps out and loses grip over time.

I tested ram xgrip and stem mount on my GSXR. It does the job but ram xgrip is a poorly designed universal phone holder. It holds the phone in place but the stem mount is bad designed (you have to cut yourself the mounting insert to install it into the stem and it self destroys after the first turn of the nut...), does not lock in place and it touches the aluminum stem with the risk of scrathces. The x grip does its job but looks weak and woobly, the rubber holder looks like it is going to break only if you stare at it... I bought it and returned. Better consider other brands such as SP Connect or Quadlock.
