Are all SBC's 2 piece rear mains? I believe mine was pulled from an 86' C10.

No, they went to one piece sometime in the 80's. To change those, the trans and flywheel have to come off.

I was told you have to lift the engine to get the oil pan off. I have a 72 burban that needs rear main and oil pan gaskets replaced.

Thats a c10 so no front differential to get around. Now the k10 because its 4 wheel drive. Then your pulling that engine

i did this in my 87 V10 so it is possible in the 4 wheel drive. just have to do a little more finagling

You should have replaced all the main bearings while you were at it. The rod bearings are always better off.

This fellow did not properly install the rear main seal, And a new plastic oil pump shaft coupler was not installed. People should not make tutorial videos on topics that they are not familiar with.
