Do you know the size of the bolts that hold the intecooler on. Mine are rotton so need to fit new ones once theyre out

I have purchased a R sport stage 2, will the L plates to secure the intercooler to the radiator come with or need to be purchased seperate?

usually intercoolers come with all mounting hardware included. If in doubt just contact Puma Speed as R-sport is their own brand

No sorry mate, stopped selling Mondeo intercoolers a while back as such a slow seller. Airtec and PWR still make one though. Have to take bumper off for them. Airtec one you have to drill 2 holes into the radiator support bar, PWR just bolts onto the original factory mounts.

For RS Mk2, do you have to remove the bumper to installer the intercooler?

yes you do mate as the entry and exit on the RS intercoolers is larger and both point straight towards the back of the car so you cant get them down and past the radiator support panel. I mean look you could in theory loosen the support panel and just squeeze the intercooler past but for the messing around I dont think you will save any time at all. Quicker and neater to just take the bumper off

No, with a larger intercooler it just means that your air charge temps will be lower. In simple terms, the lower the air charge temps the more efficiently the engine can run (why a turbocharged car will perform better on a cold winters night than a hot summers day)

Why do you call it stage 1/2 intercooler?

Thats how they are most commonly distinguished on these vehicles. Stage 1 intercooler has standard sized entry and exit pipework and the standard boost hoses are used, stage 2 is the same unit but with air deflectors added, stage 3 uses the larger entry and exit pipework that's the same as the RS mk2. (Its not a half stage. The / has been used instead of writing stage 1 or 2 if thats what you meant)

@@haydenbeale2675 we dont offer a stage 1 intercooler any more as you will always benefit from having the most air charge cooling possible so go for the biggest you can fit/afford to be honest mate
