@@crutchfield got a bad wire harness from red wolf... lesson learned. cost me a new stereo i kinda wanted figuring my old one crapped out in storage (dual, never a long term brand imo). Once I got the harness that works i'll be fine. Never had a bad harness so it threw me for a loop for two days. Had me questioning my vehicles wiring lol got a tester now so never again.

Heads up for folks with Microsoft Sync. The CAN network adapter that interfaces for the steering wheel controls will not port the voice command, OK, and phone answer/hangup buttons.

The non nav versions dont have the 4 screws. The holes there aren't even threaded. Pissed me off so bad, new radio working and everything. But scoches kit is essentially a nav radio replacement only. You can use bolts/nuts, but good luck getting the alignment right, and it's a pain to remove if you need to.

will the Ford sync system still work ? and in my wife's 09 escape what happens to the info panel above the factory non nav head unit ? The panel that show ALL the info ?? will it just be useless? If so, if I use the Maestro add on will that panel and sync system still work? Thank you in advance

The SYNC system can be kept working with the right type of aftermarket radio when its installed with the proper parts. A receiver with an iDatatlink port on it and then using the iDatalink Maestro ADS-MRR interface can keep it working. The stock display will not be used anymore as this setup allows the new radio to display that information. i have a 2011 ford escape and people are saying i need the maestro ads-mrr module to replace my radio....as far as i can tell this is only to maintain the SYNC functions, which my car already DOES NOT have...my question is that in order to keep my steering wheel controls (volume, forward/back, etc.) do i still need this module? (also fyi the sony head unit I am planning to purchase specifically says that it supports steering wheel functions)

main reason i had wanted the 6x9 was because they were 3 way, whereas the 6x8s are two way....although it does look like this model of 6x8 can out perform the jbl 3 ways as well but i wasnt sure if the 6x9 would even fit or not

6x9 speakers do have mounting tabs that are spaced further apart than those on a 6x8 speaker. Also, the 6x9 is a bigger speaker. We have not researched the vehicle to see it there is a way to modify the mount to take a 6x9 speaker. I recommend consulting a custom installer to see if its possible to make that change. A reverse camera, also called backup camera, can be installed into this vehicle and connected to any touchscreen receiver with a backup camera input (should be most, if not all receivers with a touchscreen now).

That information should not be lost. There is a display at the top of the dash should continue to work and show that information.

It looks like the factory version of SiriusXM will be lost when changing the receiver. The good news is you can get a new receiver that is SiriusXM-ready, pair it with the tuner, and keep it that way. Why can't we disconnect airbag?

Disconnecting that harness can cause issues with the airbag control system so that it throws a fault code to the BCM which disables airbags from deploying in the event of an accident. Best to keep the airbag harness plugged in.
