How To Install a Teflon Seal on a High Pressure Line

WOW.. I always wondered what that white ring was for.. ive never seen anything about it with my PS pumps for my jeep xj over the years but today I decided to look it up.. I'm glad I did.

My problem is I boogered up the ring that came with my new/reman ps pump. I have bought 3 packs of the Dorman rings that all part stores carry. The bigger seal does not stretch it just breaks every time. The smaller seal will stretch but not enough. I managed to get one of the smaller seals on there but when I put line back on pump it did not stay in place and blew out. What do I do now.?

LOL! I've never worked on a Jeep but my guess is there is a lot of room in the engine compartment which is probably nice. Thanks for watching Foxy!

What would cause it to leak at the center of the nut where the line goes through. Just did installed mine with a new teflon ring and it's extremely slow but I see it getting Shiney in there

Could you do it upside down w/my arm through the frame & 18” off the ground?

Wish I would have seen the video before I tried to stretch a NAPA brand seal by using a slightly larger punch to expand it. Hot water May have helped. The Ford dealer didn’t have any seals in stock. Wouldn’t recommend NAPA seals

The hot water certainly works well. It seems to go on pretty easy once it gets started. Just curious,what was the tool you were using with the hook end and what is it used for?

That was a small Craftsman pick. They have an assortment of sizes. They are really good at pulling seals out of grooves, and other areas where you need to hook onto something small. Thanks for watching Rita!

how do you remove the whole end piece from the hose? is there a tool?
