Sorry for going off topic. Your body of work is vast and truly amazing. I spent about five hours last night watching all kinds of videos. I'm a big Who fan and I had no idea about Keith Moon's stay at the holiday inn of Flint. Anyway, I noticed that you spent a large part of your career at the Ford transmission plant on Van Dyke and you've posted a lot of auto related fixes. So I have some questions and I don't assume that you know the answers but I thought it would be worth a shot because the stakes are a bit high. I have a 2010 Ford Taurus. Best car I've ever owned. It has 420,000 miles because I take great care of it. However, I think the transmission is in it's golden years. I'm getting some slippage and sometimes it shifts into gears with a bit of force. I'm obviously not going to sink a lot of money into this car. So I'm wondering if something like "Lucas transmission fix" might help. They claim that it stops slippage. Half of the Internet says it's a great solution but the other half says it's snake oil. I checked the transmission fluid level and it's fine (closer to the "full" range). So my questions are: do you think this stuff is worth trying? Could it make things worse? Since my current fluid level is full, if I add the Lucas treatment it will technically be in the "overfill" Category. I talked to a couple mechanic friends and both said to give it a shot. And one of them said not to worry about the overfill situation. What are your thoughts? Again, don't feel obligated to respond. I thank you in advance for any advice you could provide.

I do have some personal advice I can share. I worked for 20 years at Ford transmission plant that likely made your transmission. Its called the 6R50 or 6R55 if AWD. They are solid transmissions. Slipping is usually caused by worn friction disc's. Slamming is often a sticking solenoid valve. A fluid change might be helpful. I would not do a flush, just a change. It has a lifetime filter that cannot be changed without removing it from the vehicle and tearing deep into it. The filters are designed too last and don't need to be changed. Also, there is an additive you could try. I have had successful results with in the past. I spoke wrong about your model name it is 6F50 or 6F55. F designates front wheel drive. 6 is number of speeds.
