How to Install a Truck Cab with Homemade Hoist/Gantry Lift

Today Mikey ‪@theshopspot9053‬ and I will be installing the cab onto the restored southern frame of my 1980 Toyota Pickup Long Bed. We're using a home made A-frame gantry lift that Mikey built. Mistakes were made, but we got the job done without injury.

if you run a board through the cab and rest it against the interior roof and put the strap under it, itll avoid further damage to the drip rails. it just has to extend a few inches outside the roof

I tried that with a 2x4 once and it snapped: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y56saZiZqthlmbs maybe a 2x6 or 2x8 next time!

why didnt you paint the back of the cab before you lowered it in place with the truck bed .....? you cant reach that in between the two ... what do i know ?...Nothing ...?

I'll unbolt the bed and set it back a couple of feet on the frame when it comes time to paint the cab.
