So glad you are able to follow. And yes I did not like the airstone video and why I made my own.

Awesome video, thank you! Finally you showed and answered all the questions I had with the airstone exterior product. Furthermore, I really appreciated the helpful tips with applying the airstone to the exterior wall. Your video was the best I’ve seen out of 20 other KZbin videos on airstone. 👍

Thank you Serial Kilter dude. I needed to know exactly what you had to say. Leaving the lines so water runs is a really good idea!

Thank you for your video. I am going to do a faux wall this weekend as an accent wall where my tv goes. I used cement board as the backer board which I could have gotten by with using dry wall. I plan to do the outside of my front door next & will be using the cement board out there. That was a great idea to go vertical with the adhesive outdoors.

Even better than the Loctite Premium is the Loctite Premium Fast Grab, which is a bit stickier and sets faster. It also holds the pieces of stone from sagging after applied. I glued a piece of stone onto a cinder block to see how well it would hold. After 2 hours I could not remove it with a hammer and chisel! That's stuff is crazy strong. That's going to be my adhesive for my outdoor fireplace.

How has the airstone weathered the outdoors? I see lots of indoor project videos and yours is one of the very few outdoor projects.

I'm going to use this product on my exterior foundation and I've already purchased all of my supplies. Do you think that it would work to start from the top and work down? It seems like it would be easier, as I'd be able to use the "already level" line where my siding ends, and the majority of my cuts would be more hidden at the bottom. Thanks in advance.

Great video! I was wondering how this product is installed outside. I have "siding" and wood trim around my chimney. I'm gonna tear off the trim and siding, then put up airstone. I'm guessing that I would use this same procedure you did here? I know I'll have to replace the flashing around the top. I'm gonna use that pvc wood grain board to replace the trim and fascia.

I want to add this to exterior exposed concrete foundation around the lower 2ft perimiter of my home. It has never been painted, its just bare concrete, do I still need the backer or can I apply directly to the foundation wall?

I have the same question.

Thanks, great presentation. Are there any tips or tricks to starting the first row?
@kiltedshenanigans47643 жыл бұрын
Best advice on starting the first row is to use a level and measure up the width of the stone making a level mark all the way across. I used wood shims under the first row of stones for them to set on while I worked my way up.

Hello your video was very well put together. I only have one question. You used a Hardie board on wood surface or concrete. I have Stucco surface do I still need to use a Hardie board?
@kiltedshenanigans47642 жыл бұрын
That wpukd depend on how smooth the stucco surface is. Yes the adhesive will stick to it but the backs of the stone are laser cut and very smooth. Any variations in the surface you are adhering the stone to will show amd make ot more difficult to line the stones up perfectly. The hardy board is a very smooth concrete board that will make stacking your stones so much easier.

How would you cut this if wall penetrations to work around? Like electrical service entrance or gas service entrance. Try to just cut a tight hole on the seam of two different blocks with a jigsaw or something or is there some kind of special piece like vinyl siding would have for a receptacle or something?
@joemarchand83133 жыл бұрын
Great video! I'll need to buy a saw for this project. you mentioned a tile saw. Is there another type of power saw that would do the necessary cuts well?
@kiltedshenanigans47643 жыл бұрын
You could try a jig saw but for the best cut I would still go with a tile saw

Do we have to finish the drywall if its new before we put adhesive on it?
@florarix70914 жыл бұрын
Had this installed on the outside of part of my house in 2016. Looked really nice but in the last couple of years it's been falling off. Very frustrating. Not sure what he used as an adhesive but I noticed he put it on the back of each stone in a horizontal direction. Most of the stones have been coming loose starting at the bottom, although I have found a few that are loose, further up. Any suggestions as to how I can remedy this situation?
@kiltedshenanigans47644 жыл бұрын
Would be hard to say how to keep any more from coming off if it was not the type of adhesive I mentioned. And it really does make a huge difference if it is not put on in a vertical direction. That let's the water run down as it soaks through. The ones at the bottom are going to catch most of the water. So putting them back up with the all weather type adhesive in a vertical direction will help greatly.

Do you need to use the backer board on a block foundation house that has many coats of paint on it? I’ve been wanting to do this so bad.
@kiltedshenanigans47643 жыл бұрын
Yes I would if I was doing it since the block has many layers of paint that could affect how good the adhesive sticks to the block. Plus the backer board gives you a very flat surface and that makes a huge difference on how well the airstone line up as you stack them

As far as doing a pillar should I do one side at a time or bottom up on all sides at once ?
@kiltedshenanigans47643 жыл бұрын
So sorry I did not see this comment sooner. If you are doing a pillar they have corner peices and you will work all four side at one time. That is what I have found to work best. This way you stay level working your way up
