I think it was only your AC clutch bearings/clutch that was bad. Only 111,000 miles, these scroll compressors are not even broken in...Great video....

When doing an AC system, if there has been a catastrophic failure of anything, you should replace the drier/accumulator and the condenser too, any debris that may have been in them could flow to the other new parts of the system.

Thank you very much for the information sadly the car I did this on got totaled because someone thought a left turn meant a hook turn and slammed into me while I was sitting at a stop light lol it is what it is

@@russelldamgaard2119 If it’s already been running without too many issues you probably don’t have enough debris to worry about, It only really matters when there’s a catastrophic failure causing metal to get in the system

Should replace the accumulator. They're about $20 delivered. Also, suck it down to 30 inches. I have an old pump to do that. Some people use engine vacuum though I don't recommend that. Be sure to put more pag oil in the system.

I pretty much replaced the entire system however however I don't have the car anymore because it got total thanks to someone running a red light but thank you for the advice and I'm sure other viewers will find it insanely helpful thank you

Exactly the same sound on my 2001 mercury grand marquis, that horrible monster screaming sound coming from far away, luckily I found a four season compressor brand among 7 parts shop...

I wish I still had this car I put so much work into the cooling system and fixed up a lot of the typical Fender rot that they get and and I get hit sitting at a red light because someone decided to take a left turn too short so they totaled the car... The funny thing is I drove my car home the grand marquis grand marquis took it like a champ the Toyota that hit me however left on a tow truck

well i appreciate the offer but sadly the car was totaled when i got hit at a red light 3 years ago honestly im mad it was totaled because the Toyota that hit me needed a tow truck and i drove the Mercury home... oh well i guess i ended up getting a new car

I'm going to be honest with you... I have no idea... I knew my compressor was bad because it was grinding horribly... All I did in the video was replace the compressor just to find out my condenser also had a leak and then someone someone hit me sitting in a red light totaling the car before I could replace it

Make sure you fill the pag46 oil recommendation. 2004 mecury grand marquis you need 7.50 oz of pag oil, ac compressor from autozone has only 3oz!!!!! Keep that in mind

They originally had a sticker on the front panel with belt routing but like most stickers in oily confines they disappear early

I serviced the whole AC system and replaced the lines a couple of months later when I replaced the condenser... sadly all that work and I got hit at a red light... I drove it home and the insurance totaled it out 😒

my water pump pulley also has a crack in it i saw on your video, Does that effect my car at all? i dont see how it would unless it came apart

I would replace any cracked pullies, because of the crack extends to the contact surface it can tear the belt up.
