@tomelliott80964 жыл бұрын
Jack H thanks my man! No, the facia won’t come with the stereo. Usually you have to buy the facia first (double-din) for a big screen head unit, and then pretty much 99% of headunits will fit straight in

Hey bro I’m literally doing this as we speak I’ve connected it all up all wires , head unit is running and steering wheel controls are good but I have no sound in the speakers. I have the Rockford fosgate system with built in amp/sub do you have any idea what is wrong?
@tomelliott80964 жыл бұрын
Storm Charlie I don’t know sorry man. I haven’t used the Rockford system before, however I am under the impression that you speakers are simply not connected to your headunit. I don’t know why, but make sure your sound is up, your headunit hasn’t turned them off, and that the original audio plug (used on the stock headunit) is connected to the new headunit. Sorry man! Good luck

you need to buy a separate module to turn on the amplifier via can bus

Did your stereo recognise your parking brake being on so that you were able to use all setting functions that would be greyed out if the handbrake was down??
@tomelliott80966 жыл бұрын
Hey Jasmina! Yes it did, so in order to keep all these features (as well as watch movies while driving) I simply grounded the parking brake wire, tricking the head unit into thinking it's on all the time! hahah

Hey man. I have a back up camara that is on at all time. Could I swith from normal view to the back up camara with an app or such while driving. Also, how about hooking a dash cam to it?
@tomelliott80966 жыл бұрын
I can't really help you there sorry man. I can only assume that you rear view camera should only be on when your car is in reverse, so if this is not the case, It probably is a wiring issue, and as for the Dashcam, I'm unsure what you mean? Unless you're talking about a rear mounted dashcam. Sorry dude

Does this also works with stock rockford fosgate stock audio systems?
@begarci72487 жыл бұрын
Do you have the rockfordfostgate speakers & subwoofer? Planning to change my headunit to an aftermarket and I'm not sure if the aftermarket headunit is compatible to my stock rockford sound system.
@tomelliott80967 жыл бұрын
I don't have the Rockford fosgate system in my car, so I installed an amplifier and subwoofer (Video of install is on my channel). But as far as I am aware, any aftermarket headunit should work with factory speakers/amps, just as long as you have the correct wiring harnesses. Assuming your Rockford fosgate system as a standard wiring loom into the stock headunit, you should be easily able to change over headunits.
@begarci72487 жыл бұрын
Tom Elliott thanks man! 👍🏻

@@begarci7248 usually if you have a system the aftermarket headunit usually needs to be wired in to a package module. I had the same problem with a Mazda job which had Bose audio

@tomelliott80966 жыл бұрын
Hey Maggie! I don't know to be honest. I ordered my facia on ebay just as it was, and it required a minimal amount of modding to fit my headunit. The headunit size is totally up to you, I would suggest getting your headunit first, and then basing your facia off that! Hope this helps!

where do i get those extra wires from bro
@tomelliott80966 жыл бұрын
Hey man. In response to all your other questions, I can only state that it may be your wiring that is causing you these issues. If you have bought wiring harnesses to fit factory/aftermarket units, It should still work, as it's not actually changing anything significant, especially not your power supply. I got my harnesses from a car audio store, not online. Make sure when you're connecting wires to unplug the negative battery terminal before hand, and then to test power, put it back and turn your car on. Any more questions feel free to ask man! Hope this helps!

Double check all of your connections man! If your headunit is turning on with the car, then its a simple wiring issue, not a headunit problem. Make sure connections are connected properly into the back of the headunit, and make sure the correct wires are matched colour to colour. If you have any more issues, let me know!
