How to Install and Set Offset Flywheel Key on 47cc/49cc Pocket Bike

Hey I got a 49 cc pit bike motor I need help with the flywheel setting. It's one of the ones you buy on Amazon with the bolt already attached to the flywheel. So basically all I need to do is screw it down and then that's it when I pull the pull start it pulls a little and then it slips and doesn't recoil. Recoil is not broke

A friend gave my son has a Chinese 49cc quad 2 stroke which has been used very little, but is the hardest thing to pull, it seems as the compression is sky high. when the plug is removed it spins over really easy but once the plug is replaced it is next to impossible to pull. The plastic pull start broke so I replaced it with an 'easy start' flywheel and pull start. It will start eventually and runs OK but pulling it is a real pain in the hand. I am a 4 stroke mechanic but have never investigated 2 strokes. Any ideas? please...

The only thing i can think of besides oil build up in the cylinder or crankcase is someone may have took it apart and left the gasket off the cylinder where it bolts to the block, that makes the piston go further up towards to the head. But on my bike i tried the copper gasket and the piston hit the cylinder, but even with that it still had about the same compression. hope this helps, Thanks for Watching!!!

Quite a bit actually, from what i've heard, i've never actually tried it. But you can buy them specifically lawn mower engines for racing purposes only, they have them in several different degrees. And if you upgrade to a billet flywheel, its actually adjustable on it without having to pull it. thanks for watching!!!

I was thinking my timing wasnt right because it wasnt turning on but i have the factory key so that shouldnt be the reason its not turning on right?.i tried everything i cleaned my carb i got great compression the spark plug is wet so theres gas flowing i have spark but dont kno how big of a spark dose it need to be

Yeah timing should not be a problem, even with the offset key it will run with it in either direction, it may be a weak spark, even if it is sparking it still may not be sparking right when the gases are in the cylinder under pressure, i set mine at .030", seems to work alright. A inline spark tester is handy for checking weak spark. thanks for watching!!!

fnaguitarplayer9 yeah it was the spark i fixed the gap on the plug and got a nice blue spark and turned on ,on 3 pull Thanks for the advice highly appreciated

I have this same bike and it's running really rough just replaced clutch pad bit I think something else is wrong like engine bearings the bike knocks but runs can u give me any suggestions on how to fix this problem??? Thanks in advance

It could be a number of things, first thing that comes to mind is piston slap, it will sound like that or it could be the crank bearings, might have to open it up and check everything out. Thanks for Watching!!!

fnaguitarplayer9 no problem I looked it up and I saw spark knock could be the problem what spark plug do u use also the flywheel fell off when I was riding and the keyway thing fell I think it's called that Idk I just want to try t9 repair engine or replace the engine
