How to install Android on ANY Nintendo Switch (All Models Supported) (Lineage OS 18.1)

This video will walk you through installing Android on any modded Nintendo Switch. This method works on all models (v1/v2, Lite, and Oled). I have also included how to switch back to TWRP recovery; which is hands down the BEST recovery for Android. Stay tuned towards the end of the video to learn how to switch the recover back to TWRP.

NEED HELP?
If you get STUCK ON LINEAGE LOGO after clicking Flash Android:
-Plug SD card back into PC. Navigate to the "install" folder, it will be inside switchroot folder.
-Copy the TWRP.img file into the install folder (switchroot/install/twrp.img)
-Plug SD into the Switch and go back and click on Flash Android again in Tools/Partition SD Card (you don't have to partition the SD card again, just skip it and Install Android).
-Then press continue and you should now boot into TWRP recovery instead.
-Watch the end of the video to learn how to navigate TWRP and install Lineage from TWRP instead of the Lineage Recovery.

Correct me if I a wrong but if the boot to payload option is now missing from the android developer options and you are running a soft mod on a v1 unpatched switch each time you power off to switch back to atmosphere, you will have to re-inject your payload which would be a pain in the ass. You could use auto RCM and a portable payload injector or android phone to inject, but if you use a PC to inject your payload and you do this while traveling you will be shit out of luck.

Hi, i followed your youtube tutorial diligently, but when the lineage OS is loading to finalize the installation, it does not go to recovery , but instead goes to Hekate. Mine is V2 with SXOS modchip.

I had a similar problem people are facing where from recovery once its done with "flashing" android it goes to the lineage logo screen and it freezes. Ive waited 20 mins with a timer set and still nothing. Ive read some people waiting as long as an hour. I did everything by the steps laid out on the switchroot website.

i'm a newbie and i'm trying to do an android installation on my switch, i've followed each steps on the switchroot website and also some youtube videos. However, after creating a partition and trying to flash android, i got stuck on the lineage logo screen and it's always booting back to hekate. I've tried to install android twice but again it's always booting back to hekate As a background, i do have the modchip that has the rocket image while there's no SD card on the switch. some sources said that i can't install android on this chip. do i have no luck or there's a workaround on this? I just went through your whole tutorial and got my switch running great. Unfortunately I now have a very strange issue. My SD card(512gb) is now saying its 1.7gb and the Internal Storage is 512gb. Looking through the beginning again I realized that FAT32 only supports up to 4gb so why would I let the switch format it like that?

Seems for sx lite chips you need to flash it to spacecraft (open the switch lite, connect the dongle to the chip itself). Careful you might brick the switch if you do it incorrectly

Not all switches are compatible. Depending on your modchip you might not be able to install android. Mine, for example, can't be updated and thus is incompatible

if you install whats called a modchip into your switch then it will work. a modchip is a physical chip that you solder onto your switch, and it drops almost all power to skip a security check switches do to see if it needs to boot up into factory or consumer mode.

Nvrmind damn thing is working now just had to figure out how to get it into recovery mode now with twrp... little frustrating compared to wat it used to do cuz now it flashes recovery mode for like a split second... meaning I now have to have tegrarcm set up to auto inject the payload instead of it staying in rcm and being able to select the payload however long it would have taken... so yea little annoying considering the time limitation I now have but I got it working...

Hi, I have a question. My oled switch is not modded yet. I’m thinking about having it modded (not by me, by a guy in town who works with this kind of things) to install android but not for games! Instead I’d like to install android for PlayStation Remote Play and video streaming services like Netflix, Disney+ and so on, because I have a second house in the mountains with an old tv with no smart apps. So I would connect the Switch to that tv and use the android partition as a “tv box” (and PS Remote Play too) Is it worth it, in your opinion? Thanks!

for that purpose, you might be better off using a chromecast. i know the newer ones have steam link compatibility, so maybe the playstation streaming service would be available for it as well.

I found only one solution. Only formatting of the SD card. One user has the same problem there on reddit. He was offered many options, but only the formatting worked.

There is one little dilemma on your tutorial. You didn't include Hekate in the description and link to download it... Also after following all your step and importing all needed files and decompressed the ones you pointed out as well and import the files and folders of those to the SD card formatted exFAT (including hekate_ctcaer_6.0.5_Nyx_1.5.4_v2), after pressing the On button when Switch was totally off, the device didn't boot into Hekate with SD card in it. I've revised several times all your steps and no go. I have the original Switch but with the serial number of the models that aren't hackable with the old methods plus latest firmware version from Nintendo currently installed.
