How to install Android Tesla 12.1" Screen to Infiniti QX56 QX80 2011-2020 / Nissan Armada Patrol Y62

Steps to Install:
1. Pull up the gear panel from the sides
2. Unplug the cable from under gear panel
3. Grab the bottom side of the tunnel panel, pull slightly outwards [left / right], then pull up
4. Unscrew the old stereo unit
5. Unscrew the old screen unit
6. Plug in the power and USB cables to the new screen
7. After testing everything works, including the steering wheel controls, put back the screws.
8. The original Infiniti hazard light switch does not fit into this screen, you need to buy one from Nissan for the Armada
9. The Armada hazard light switch will need a little sanding on the sides connecting tabs to fit well
10. Installation complete

This is the original Infiniti dash, no modification needed, it is plug-and-play. ...except the original Infiniti hazard light switch could not be re-used with the new screen. You need to buy one from Nissan for the Armada - part number 25290-1LA0B, see at 6:13 in video.

I have a few questions... Does it say anything about it being able to play DVDS??? Is it hooked up to your mobile hotspot or does it come with a wifi device already??? Also does it have the google app store and will it let you add apps???

The unit does not have a DVD player but it has RCA video IN, so you can have an external DVD player ... not ideal though. never tried myself. The unit comes with a SIM card slot so you can get a cell phone line and use it as a car phone as well as for GPS and internet. In my case, I just turn on my cellphone hotspot to access GPS and internet. Because it is Android, you get everything just like an Android phone, including Google Playstore, so you can download apps.

I did not do anything special, I just hooked up the wires appropriately and everything worked OK, including the steering wheel controls for volume and next / previous song.

Can you switch Bluetooth connected devices while the car is moving? In OEM the car has to stop. Yes, this screen behaves 100% like an Android phone. 4. Can the software be updated? eg. if CarPlay+ has a newer version. I have not attempted and will not try, I don't want to lose Infiniti specific functions already built into this screen. I tried to add a 4-digit password to it, it malfunctioned, I had to do a factory reset, so do not add PIN.

Hey, is the unit still working correctly? I heard there's a way to make the camera come on without being in reverse. I saw a video that say double tap on the source button on the steering wheel.

The unit is working correctly since I installed it September 2022, it has been 6 months with no issues. I am impressed. Took car to Infiniti dealership for oil service, they were impressed by the screen too. The Source button trick did not work for me, it changes between Radio, Music, Bluetooth and video. Anyway, I only need 360 cameras when reversing and that works OK.

Go to Settings > Volume > Media and make sure volume is up. I totally removed the old radio. It is possible you have AC wires not connected or try using a different harness, the screen comes with 3 different types.

I installed it in July 2022 and it is still running OK. I am very impressed by the quality and functionality. Only issue is - missing an option to open the 360 degrees surround camera, but a workaround is to shift gear to reverse whenever I need to view the cameras.

Yes I have Bose speakers. Mine came with too high volume, I had to go to the music equalizer screen and created my own custom profile that had lower volume. In your case, go to the same screen and create a sound profile with higher volume.

I believe 360 cameras will work for your armada. For my Infiniti QX, the 360 cameras work, see at 5:34 but to activate them on the display screen, you shift gear to Reverse. there is no Camera button to turn them on the new screen.
