💪This is a very essential tutorial to install a *verified package* of blender. 👎People should not install a flatpak package or an outdated system package. ❤Thank-You.

You're welcome! Yeah the Blender version on the Linux Software center is always outdated.

I already use an extremely similar workflow for Blender installs but was curious to see what other users do. This is is what a tutorial should be. Concise and to the point.

You practically read my mind! I made a permanent switch to Linux Mint as my daily-driver OS several months ago, and one of the few questions I've had is how to keep the latest version of Blender updated, because the repositories seldom have the latest release. I had figured out that you just unzip and run it from where-ever (and I have a shortcut to it in a launcher I use)... but exactly how Ryan King does it is something I was really wanting to know - so I can't thank you enough for this! Any other Linux tips you may have for using Blender or other related software would be appreciated by a subset of your fans, I'm sure... As always, Keep up the Great Work!

Helpfull video. You could also add a guide to paths for platpak users. Btw have you tested which version(deb, flatpak, steam) have better performance?

Thanks. No, I've only ever tried this way of installing Blender. I don't think installing in different ways effects the performance.

I am really new to linux mint and blender so these videos are brilliant. How do I know when a new version of blender is available. I was using the software manager and the versions are quite old so update notifications are not that reliable.

Glad the video helped! You can check Blender's website to see if there is an updated version, on the downloads page. Also, if you're subscribed to Blender's KZbin channel, they make update videos when they release a new major release of Blender.

@@RyanKingVideo thank you. I had no idea such a mammoth program like blender existed and I have barely scratched the surface.
