I am having someone install custom cabinets but I am going to be doing the floors, backslash, under cabinet lighting, and recessed lighting. I am an industrial electrician so I have the electrical knowledge, I just don’t know the tricks of the trade of residential work.

Do you have to drill a hole in the joists when running the Romex wire between lights?

We currently have fluorescent tube lighting in our bathroom downstairs, laundry room, and one bedroom and we have a drop ceiling in all of those. The light bulbs are a pain to replace, go out often not that bright, so I'm going to put in canless lighting in those rooms. Luckily a drop ceiling is easier to alter and cut out. Hopefully it turns out well. I plan on eventually doing this upstairs as well because, again, dark rooms.

Fantastic simple instructions. I'm placing a can above my kitchen sink using similar method but not into ceiling, into 1/2 inch thick wood panel above the sink that is even with cabinet tops. There is about 12" of open space between the wood panel and ceiling. I believe this can work as long as the box can be tucked behind the molding at the front of our cabinets. However, is conduit needed for the line into the box from the drywall?

Great video..but I need advice on daisy-chaining the lights--do we need to pigtail them from light to light or can they share the same wire nut before connecting to the next light in the chain??

Pull down flip switch or go into attic find box and flip switch to desired temp.

How do you piggyback on a double switch on the first floor? the light switch(s) controls 2 separate fixtures which I already installed 2 canless recessed lights (have been working perfectly) but would like to add 2 more. 1 off of each, is this possible?

How do you find out how many lights u need in a room sense their are different sizes of lights that give out different lumens

How did you run power from the outlet to the switch plate! Do you have a video of that?

How do you know if you have power coming to the switch box? Not sure how you determined that you needed to run cable from the outlet to the box.

Try using a voltage detector to see what wires are live.

The have a insulation ring around the rim that help with that. I have seen some people remove those, I don’t recommend that. I have not had an issue yet.
