I've really tried to read up on Corsair RGB ecosystem but its confusing as hell. This is definitely the best video explaining it. Think its a bit stupid that the controller and lighting hub are 2 seperate devices. Seems like a waste and made it much harder to understand. I want to control my fans as well, so ill need the commander pro as well..... What a clusterfuck of devices to configure and hide in the case
@PallaDrak5 жыл бұрын
Just connect some of them and the rest to your motherboard and set the fan curves from there on both. Cheaper than getting another whole device. Unless of course, you have 9 ll fans.
@Blacksadify4 жыл бұрын
I totally agree, I'm dealing with this currently. Why isn't this just one device? Why have two devices that effectively do the same GD thing? And, why don't they come with a USB connected fan hub so you can just plug in all your fans in the back like you do with the RGB?! It's my first RGB case, and will likely be my last at this rate.
@Annodite4 жыл бұрын
I'm probably a bit behind on this, but as someone who's trying to buy new RGB case fans, I can't understand how corsair decided to design to connect the case fans to TWO DIFFERENT HUBS. Confusing AF and doesn't help they don't explain it well.
@Blacksadify4 жыл бұрын
@@Annodite Just finished my build, and went through the same thing. If you have a fair amount of RGB fans, I'd get a Commander Pro. It's a fan hub, and you just plug the RGB controller in the side. I found it easier to work with.
@Blacksadify4 жыл бұрын
@@dw4834 It takes some work and really immaculate cable management. Or, if you have a case like the 280x with a seperate area in the side of the case, you can cram it all in there. lol Get a commander pro if you're going the Corsair route, imo. It makes it much easier.

I've a quick question for a different set up scenario I hope you may be able to answer: I have a lighting node CORE attached to my Corsair 4000x case already (with 6 available inputs - 3 of which occupied by SP120's which will be coming out soon and being replaced as per below) Q1) Do I need the fan hub and node PRO if I've got a lighting node CORE? Q2) I'm looking at swapping out my existing fans for 4x LL120's (3x front intake & 1x rear exhaust) with 2x LL140's (2x top exhaust) - Will the fact they're the same type of fan, but different sizes be an issue? (I know you can't mix LL's with SP's on the same hub for example, but what about different sizes?) Q3) Can I do everything in Q2 without the need for the commander pro?

With the most cases they are facing the wrong sidenow, but the front of this case is not really 'open', so there is not alot of space to push air inside (there are modifications available to make it a more open case). Other youtubers also set it up like this. What are your thoughts?

@TechBoost4 жыл бұрын
Good question! The lighting node pro is for controlling and customizing the fans on your PC (so you can use the iCue software with the lighting node pro). The fan hub is only necessary when you're installing more fans than the lighting node pro can connect with. In every situation you need to connect a single fan with a RGB header on your motherboard. If you have 1 or 2 free RGB/FAN headers you can buy for a splitter to connect more fans on one header :) I hope this helps you out!

There are two wires which come with each fan. I assume an RGB 3-way splitter is needed to connect a kit with three fans to the motherboard. Can you think of a reason Corsair doesn't provide one with the kit? It is not a luxury, it is a necessity.
@TechBoost4 жыл бұрын
Hey Mark, I don't know but I think Corsair wants the users to do research about fan splitters. Fan splitters are not totally without risk because you need to check the motherboard connection power output vs the total power usage of (let's say) 3 fans on 1 splitter. If they include it in the package people will just connect it without reading something about it. I'm not sure but it's a guess 😊

@TechBoost4 жыл бұрын
You can do it with fan splitters (3 fans on 1 motherboard connection) but every motherboard is different in this situation so I would advise you to check your motherboard manual with all the connections and power outputs. I have connections on my motherboard like RGB_FAN / CHA_FAN / AIO_PUMP / SYS_FAN. These are available for a RGB fan and some are also suitable for fan splitters (but ALWAYS check the power output from 1 motherboard connection first before connecting multiple fans to one motherboard connection). The total power usage of 3 fans (on a fan splitter) may never exceed the total power output from 1 motherboard connection. You can find this information in the manuals from your motherboard and RGB fans. 😊

Hi there! Haha yes, Corsair made these RGB Fans unnecessary difficult for a while! The cables that go from the fans to the motherboard are just for powering the fans. The Node Pro and the Fan Hub are just for the iCUE software. With that software you can control and customize the RGB lighting. I know that they made some other models last year which are much easier to install with less cables 👍🏼😁

Asus Aura does not support the Corsair RGB Fans, so if you want to use the RGB function of the Corsair Fans you will need the Lighting Node Pro. Hi! That's correct. You connect them with the Fan Hub because you need the connection with the Lighting Node Pro for all the fans (to be able to control them through the corsair software). The 4-pin connectors are the power cables for the fans and they get the power from your motherboard. Every 4-pin connection like RGB_FAN / CHA_FAN / AIO_PUMP / SYS_FAN can be used to power them. Works fine here! Let me know how it went! :)

Hello, how do I control the lighting and speed if I don't have the connector hub? Because I want to order only 1 fan.
