I bought the corsair Obsidian 500 d with the RGB commander thing. This little gem of a port 2:22 is not visible the way it was installed because it faces the back of the case. With the crap instructions that came with it, I couldn't figure out how this would work, because the only thing I could see to connect it was a SATA power connector, which wouldn't send any signals to the controller. The splitter is securely connected to the front of the power supply cover. The commander, was not. The glue on the tape failed and it was bouncing around inside the case when it was delivered.

You can't buy the Lighting Node Pro separately, as that comes with their 2-packs and 3-packs of their fans, as well as their LED strips. The alternative is to buy the Commander Pro, which is only a little cheaper than buying a 3-pack. The Commander Pro has inputs for; Two RGB LED channels (like the Lighting Node Pro), two USB 2.0 headers, 4 thermistors for temperature sensors, and 6 PWM fans. I can only imagine how much it must suck to find that out, and although this comment is a bit late, I hope it helps.

Lol. I feel like an idiot being guided through a very simple process. Needless to say, this video is extremely helpful. LOL! Thanks, buddy. Appreciate it. lol! I'd probably fry my system left to my own devices. :D No pun.

Even the commander pro requires the hub for the fan rgbs. If you want more than 2 channels you can use 2 node pros, or 2 commander pros or 1 of each

Do i need the lightning node pro AND the rgb FAN Hub, or is it enough to just purchase the Fan hub? I recently built my first pc wich has an itx motherboard with only one usb 2.0 so i already had to buy rhe internal usb hub from NZXT.

For the Corsair LL120 RGB 120mm Independent RGB PWM Fan Black do I need a fan hub / lighting node pro? To light it up?

This is a good video, helped with builds concerning the fans. One tip to improve on is the upward inflection when you're explaining things at the end of your sentences, gives me a headache. Apart from that, good job mate!

from what understand from the video. it depens on your motherboard. if you dont have any or enough 4 pin connectors on it,,you must use a fan connector. im trying to figure this out to because my case is on the small side, and i dont know if i have room for all that crap

You’ll need the node connection to be able to utilize the software to change the fan colors They have a starter pack that includes 3 120mm fans and the node for around 100$ which is good considering the fans run around between 30-35$

@@TheHasani1994 hey bud. so u need those 3 fans, lighting node pro, fan splitter and commander pro. So you plug everything exactly the same as in the video but then plug the rpm cables from the fans to the commander pro. u must connect the commander pro also to a usb port on ya mother board and if ya want led strips to da commander pro

@@bray8949 If you have the commander pro, do you still have to use node pro for rgb lighting strips? I mean you can put 2 rgb lighting strips in the commander pro? My plan is to build a case with rgb fans and rgb lighting strips. But also want to control the fan speed. Sorry for some bad Englisch, thnx.
