Important: While you can connect 12 QL fans on the Lighting Node Pro, and the Commander Pro controllers, It's only possible if you use SignalRGB, iCUE will only let you do 6 QL fans on the Lighting Node Pro and the Commander Pro. You also will experience laggy effects if you connected 12 QL fans on the Lighting Node Pro and Commander Pro, so we still recommended the Commander Core XT which doesn't have this issue. However, you can run 12 of any other Corsair fans on the Lighting Node Pro and Commander Pro without any lag issues.

While the kids are using the free version, I decided to subscribe (I do really despise subscriptions! Though, this one is quite reasonable). Awesome video. Probably the only in-depth video that hits all the major RGB brands. For Lian Li Infinity fans (that are connected to their controller), do you have to use the 5V ARGB header on MB for Signal RGB to control it? Or will Signal RGB be able to detect the fans / controller via the USB Header? Asking b/c Signal RGB can detect Corsair Commander Core via USB connection.
@SignalRGB
@SignalRGB 2 жыл бұрын
You can use either usb or 5v header. But with 5v, the first channel will be copied onto all other channels and there will be NO LAG. With usb you get full control on all channels but you might experience lag issues as mentioned in the video because Lian Li made their controllers poorly.

Great video. Perhaps I missed it but do you require both a hub and a controller? My mobo does not have argb headers, so I purchased the Razer Chroma hub, which has 3 pin male heads. However, the argb fans I purchased have 6 pin female heads, but it comes with a controller, which has a sata cable and a 3 pin female head, which can connect to the Razer Chroma hub. I was hoping to connect the fans directly to the Razer Chroma instead of going through a controller which then goes to the hub, but I'm not sure if there would be an incompatibility of voltages. Also, it seems a bit difficult relatively to find 3 pin argb fans.

Where is the link mentioned in the video to the instructions to get Aquacomputer RGBpx strips to work in SignalRGB? I don't understand why controlling these LED strips would be any different. They are standard ARGB LEDs with a Molex Pico-blade connector instead of the terrible "standard" ARGB connector. The RGBpx cable connects the LED strip to a port on the Farbwerk360. SignalRGB should be able to control the LED strip like any other LED strip. What am I missing? Great video BTW!
@SignalRGB
@SignalRGB 2 жыл бұрын
Added that! Check again. Forgot to, thanks for that reminder.
@BillBittel
@BillBittel 2 жыл бұрын
@@SignalRGB Thank you! I think I understand why this needs to be done. I read somewhere on Discord (can't find it now), that the Aquasuite (AQS) program will always attempt to control the Farbwerk360 (or Nano) when it's running. So if you use AQS for your cooling component control, but you want to control a FW360 with Signal RGB, there will be a conflict, not unlike having Signal RGB control a Corsair RGB controller but having iCue running at the same time with the RGB controller enabled and under iCue control. The procedure at the link you provided uses the Ambientpx feature which causes the LEDs to track video color info. Since Signal RGB uses a "canvas", this is how you get the RGB color data in the FW360. Is this correct? Also, once it's set up this way, is it then OK to have AQS running and controlling fans, pumps, etc, while Signal RGB is controlling the FW360? Final question - The FW360 and Nano support Transparency which allows RGB effects to "bleed through" higher level effects. RGBpx ports on the Octo, Quadro, D5 Next, High Flow Next, etc. do not support Transparency. Is this feature maintained or even relevant when the FW device is under Signal RGB control? I know it's kind of weird to post detailed questions like this in a KZbin comment, but since you obviously read these comments, I figured I might as well ask. Many thanks for any additional info.

1:01 You got that backwards. G, R, B is Ground and +12v is just that 12v Positive. Also there isn't a different firmware on the Lighting Node, the 2 ports are just standard argb ports. You can plug in normal argb strips into them and they will work fine. The same goes for the 1 rgb port on the commander cores and the 2 LED ports commander pro.
@SignalRGB
@SignalRGB 2 жыл бұрын
Thats true about the first part, it is technically ground green, ground red, and ground blue, but I’m not sure what you’re referring to about the last part. The lighting node at what part of the video? The only time i mention firmware is with the Spec Omega controller which is true, it is a lighting node pro controller with a different firmware that forces the first port to act as an led strip in icue and SignalRGB.
@pheelix-
@pheelix- 2 жыл бұрын
Well I don't understand why they would need to put different firmware in that Lighting node pro controller. As all lighting node pro controller ports act as a led strip in icue anyways. You just select RGB LED Strip in lighting setup. The 3 pins are standard ground, data, power.
@SignalRGB
@SignalRGB 2 жыл бұрын
@@pheelix- Thats just how it is, the Spec Omega controller has a different firmware so that it shows up like the case in iCUE. I have the firmware file too and if I gave it to you and you flashed your regular Node Pro it would change into a Spec Omega in iCUE.
@pheelix-
@pheelix- 2 жыл бұрын
@@SignalRGB well that is lame of them. Do you have the original Node Pro firmware so people can change it back into a normal one? Or maybe add it as a option in SignalRGB. This was a nice deep dive into RBG controllers, but didn't answer a question I have. Some RGB fans come with additional SATA power plug. I never know if this is necessary, or if the regular fan + argb header on the motherboard will suffice. For example, I have an AIO with RGB fans. It comes with a little controller that lets you change the colors and color modes physically, but you have to connect it to SATA power. However, you can then disconnect that connector and the LEDs will remember the set colors and still work. Recently, I bought a new AIO, which has an ARGB connector, as well as the regular fan connector, and also SATA power. With this one, I was hoping I could completely forgoe the SATA cable, as the ARGB connection to the motherboard should enable me to control the fans this way. However, with this one, the LEDs won't light up _at all_ unless the SATA is also connected. I don't understand that. And I don't understand how to figure these things out before buying RGB stuff. I would appreciate any help, insight, resources.

Both cables that come from the fans are 4 pin meaning they are not addressable yet the cpu fan that came with the pc is plugged into a 3 pin argb header labelled jrainbow1. Does this mean I have to use a header which has 4 pins and if so will the LED just be the same static colour all the time seen as it’s non addressable or will it run its own cycle of colour without any control. I have a header labelled jrgb which is a 4 pin and looks right but I’ll need to buy another splitter as this is the only 1 on the M/B

They come with a non standard plug that looks like the 3 pin rgb Lian Li plugs, would it be possible to use one of the Lian Li ARGB controller with Phanteks fans? Or should I buy six adapter cables and the Razer RGB controller separately? They look like they would fit in the AirGoo adapters.

0:38 My old B450 Aorus mobo has two 4-pin headers labeled "D_LED" that can be toggled between 5v or 12v. I was always confused as to whether these are compatible with ARGB products. From your description, the answer appears to be yes. Am I understanding this correctly?

So question about the Unifan to generic 5v 3pin adapter cable is that needed on a per fan basis or if you use the magnetic daisy chaining 1 cable per 3 fans

Thanks for the video. I'm still confused though. I've recently purchased a Cooler Master HAF 700 which includes an internal ARGB controller. The problem is that while it lets me control fans led, fans rpm are always stuck to 100%, which is frustrating. My question is if there's any solution to this. Like a ARGB fan hub that can actually control fan speeds over the motherboard or any other way. I'd really appreciatte any suggestions.

Lian-Li SL-Infinity fans have 40 ARGB LEDs per fan, and the Antec C8 case has space for ~10 fans. Seems like there aren't any controllers ready to run this out of the box in 2024; is that right? Or do people just run multiple controllers?

Are there any RGB Hubs that can be set via software but then store all the settings on board (meaning you can uninstall software and the settings remain throughout PC boot or different OS)? I'm getting B650 AORUS ELITE AX that has Fusion software, but that has to be run also and there seems to be no bios-level settings to control for RGB? (will check once I get the mb). But still, would be nice to have the best of both worlds - change settings via software, AND have them saved through hardware.

Used the Razer Chroma Controller for a while. Good controller. But damn all these controllers are so weak. I was searching for a new controller for my new build but the main led strip around the front already has around 200 LEDs. Gotta build a custom solution again. You don’t happen to have support for microcontrollers?

I think the LianLi v2 controller has issues with the MSI MEG ACE Z790 onboard ARGB controller. When the LianLi controller is connected to USB and ARGB_1 for example, it causes the ARGB_2 and 3 to not be controlled properly. It also causes the Dragon emblem and partial LED issues on the ARGB_2 and 3 controllers. I've read that this LianLi controller has all sorts of issues and people just say not to use them... hope this gets sorted. :( right now my MEG and ACE logos won't work at all, and when I lock my system for the night and come back in the morning, everything's reset lighting wise, nothing is following the canvas I set the night before. However, my ACE and MEG logo appear, and the Strimers are doing their own thing, along with the 6 120mm fans I have on a Commander XT, doing their own thing. If I restart SignalRGB the canvasing of the lighting works fine, but I lose my ACE and MEG logo again. Doesn't happen if I disconnect the LianLi controller. :(
