I installed the mini sub frame kit on my car when they first came out in 2006! It has stood the test of time as my car still drives nice 16.5 years later. I sometimes wish that I could go back in time to the day I first bought my car in 2003 and give younger teenage self myself a mini sub frame kit. lol It would have saved me alot of frustration with the stock suspension not wanting to hold alignment. When the Mini sub frame kit first came out, it was a game changer for early Nova owners, as there wasn't alot of options for curing the alignment issues on these cars.

ive got a 62 Nova with CPP full everything up front including the disk brake kit and i couldnt be happier...i drive her hard and tires wearing out on the inside way quick. Yes i could shim the upper arms as my lowers are all the way in. Rather than all the adjusting and testing the old school way im thinking i let an alignment shop handle it along with fine tune my ol garage alignment handywork..Im local(whatup boys)and lookin for the alignment shop that does ALOT of old cars anywhere near Placentia or south of the Mothership Connection(CPP)..im Temecula area...PS Awsome stumbling onto this channel! Im green and this 62 is my first hotrod ever! you know i got that 2door and tossed in a little '68 327 matched w/350turbo 3 speed,,fun fun fun..chicks think its cute...dudes loose their damn minds..lol so fiun, so thanks for the videos, great thorough explanations of info i def want and need to hear..Great job! thank you! liked and subscribed of course

are there instructions included with the kit? and when you say put the washer on the inside when putting the control arm bolt in, do you mean inside of the bolt side?

Yes there are instructions included with the kit. And the washer goes between the alignment cam and the control arm mounting surface he was pointing to in the video.

I noticed my upper control arm bolt nut heads are practically buried by my headers. did that nova on the video have headers?

Yes it did have headers which can make things a little tight. We removed the headers before the install because we were working on multiple different aspects of the steering, brakes and suspension and it gave us more room.

Can you fit a 255 40 18 with the mini sub frame?

From our experience, that tire would be too wide to comfortably fit under the stock sheet metal with this kit.

I have a 66 with CPP everything up front. The car corners like a modern car. It has a Unisteer manual rack-n-pinion. I also have the adjustable coil overs. Only complaint is a little tight spot in the steering. Any idea why?

Yes it comes with all the hardware needed. The only hardware that doesn't come with the kit (but was shown in the video) is for the shock towers since it's not a necessity to replace.

I’d like to see a video on how to align your car in your garage using the mini subframe kit! Probably of finding a shop that can figure this system out is probably not going to happen.

The lower control arms align the same as factory and the upper control arm can be aligned with shims like other vehicles from the '60s through '80s. It shouldn't be foreign to a good alignment shop!

A video with some pointers on how to align it enough to drive it to an alignment shop might be usefully, but I would still have an alignment tech do the final alignment. When I first installed the kit, I "aligned" it at home. My alignment was good enough to make the car drivable. However, The alignment tech dialed it in perfectly as he could align it more accurately than I could have aligned it.

Any reason we would need to order the cpp steering stop kit? Is it not necessary?

The steering stop kit will help protect your steering pump and other steering components from wear/damage when you turn full lock over and over. If you are mindful of this and do not turn full lock, you will be ok without the steering stops.

Also, if you are running larger wheels the stops will prevent them from rubbing.

@@CPPmaster thanks for the insight, I’ll be mindful of this when I install my whole cpp kit w/coilovers. Once the front is up on jack stands I can test to see if anything hits post install. Manual rack here…
