Sportbike Track Gear i know it's been 4 years now but I have a question, doesn't the "tensioner" you adjust for freeplay adjusts the biting point/ friction point of the bike as well? If so wouldn't adjusting that throw off your biting point?

Are these levers still good to go? Shorties or standard length for an R3?
@sportbiketrackgear Жыл бұрын
CRG makes one of the best levers for sure, we run them on Max's MotoAmerica bikes still. Personally I prefer a standard length lever. - Van
@MofosRealReviews5 жыл бұрын
That clutch lever looks the same length as the oem. I wanna change mine because it’s too long and I can’t shift without lifting my whole left hand off the bars which is sketchy with this torque crazy bike. What’s the point of changing it besides that ?
@JuiceBanger15 жыл бұрын
It looks nicer....and has adjustment for reach... get a short lever if you prefer a shorty
@sportbiketrackgear5 жыл бұрын
CRG offers a lot of options in their line of levers. We installed a standard length lever on this bike (standard length is my preference) which offer adjustable reach for both the clutch and brake levers. If you prefer a shorter lever they offer this same lever in a shorter version. - Van

10:40 christ I watched this video several times to help me install my CRG clutch lever and yet nevertheless I still forgot to push the clutch switch in to help the new lever slip into place. I was putting serious pressure on the lever to get the hole lined up to put the pivot bolt back in but the holes wouldn't line up. Thankfully, the switch pin didn't snap apart on me. I felt really stupid once I finally stopped & stepped back to see what the heck was going wrong. Mehh.. too many Voodoo Rangers I guess!!!! STG rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PS: I have the shorty version for the clutch side and it is so superior to the OEM lever. My finger muscles and forearm muscles would get fatigued while riding the stock R3 because you have to shift so often. The CRG lever greatly reduces the power needed to pull the clutch lever in. OK. Goodnight.

PPS After riding with the new Shorty for a while, I've decided that it is in fact too short for my comfort! You can only get three fingers on the lever. But this is maybe what Shorty shoppers want. The clutch pull is stronger that I feel is comfortable so I would like to be able to get all four fingers of my left hand on the lever. So I'll be returning the Shorty and buying the Regular size lever. And thank you for even acknowledging my post, Van!!! I really think your channel rocks and has invaluable posts for us riders!!! PPPS My hands are medium sized male hands.

Does changing the lever affect how light/hard it is to pull in the clutch?
@sportbiketrackgear5 жыл бұрын
If you are installing a standard length lever the pull should be very similar to what is was with the OEM lever. This just allows you to adjust the gap between the bar and the lever to suit your riding style. Depending on the age of the bike lubing the clutch cable and pivot for the lever could reduce the clutch pull a little bit. - Van

I installed mine today on a 2013 GSX-R 1000 but the bike won’t start when the lever is dialed in at 1. However it will when dialed in at 2. Since I got it started on 2, I rode it across the parking lot to test it further and it seems like the shifting isn’t smooth...like the clutch isn’t fully engaged (it’ll shift but loudly). Please help...

I had to push so damn hard on my clutch lever for it to seat properly, and I literally had to tap the pin in. Would this be an issue in the long run? and then on the brake side, I had to push the master cylinder plunger in a tad bit for the brake lever to fit properly as well, but the action is smooth, could my front brake be in danger of locking up?

Sportbike Track Gear I tried to check if they were even the right levers, and I guess he ordered them through revzilla, and when I cross referenced the part number on the box to the one on revzillas website, they matched and said it would fit my bike. Ok pay close attention! When you install an aftermarket lever you better be careful. It is very easy to not get it right and have a wheel lock up. I have been riding over 50 years and just put some new levers on. The new levers depressed the MC plunger "a few millimeters" too far in the factory setting and resulted in a front wheel lock up in a tight turn and the bike and I went down. The first sign is the engine begins to lug and then the wheel locks. If you make any change to the bike do not assume it will work as advertised. Seriously I had no idea it was coming or that the bike could even do that.
@Fischize5 жыл бұрын
@ GraeffenKellerHaus Creative Works LLC - the same thing happened to me. Thankfully I was only at 30-35 mph going straight. The front brake slowly started biting, and the engine started to stall. After 10 or so minutes, the brake disengaged, and I limped back to my house. I removed the brake lever, and after inspecting the lever, I noticed the indent where the master cylinder rod is supposed to seat, was nowhere close to being lined up. And I don’t mean by my doing - the lever actually looked like factory defect. I reinstalled the factory levers, and have no inclination to try aftermarket levers again...

I just installed the crg bar end mirrors and the ball on the end of the clutch lever just barely hits the left mirror's joint. I was going to get these levers anyway but i'll be buying replacements a lot sooner now. Do you think these will clear the mirror better or will I need to get a shorty?
