This didn't work for my gaming pc. The install wizard acts as if it's going to complete the download and gets maybe halfway but then it starts saying that it "doesn't detect the printer" and won't finish the install?

Same here. I'm thinking of buying a chromebook and printer....my windows 10 refurbished Delll won't connect with my Canon pixma or a late model HP I bought and had to return.

@@elsplace896 if it says that you need to dis-connect the printers usb from your pc and turn it off, go into your settings on your pc and uninstall all the programs that have the word canon in them, next while still in settings go to devices - printers - remove the canon mg2522 printer, after all that make sure the printers usb cord has not been plugged in and now you can install the drivers and software and once you get to the part of the installation that says printer is not detected now you can plug the printers usb cord into you pc and it should work then.

More proof that Windows 10 sucks when it comes to detecting hardware. Found this guide which fixed everything" 1. Disconnect the printer from your computer and turn it off. 2. Uninstall everything. Go to Printers in settings and Remove the printer. Uninstall every driver you've tried to install (I strongly recommend Bull Crap Uninstaller), any of the secondary programs, etc. Get rid of all of it. 3. Restart your computer just to make sure everything is gone. Now we do it "right". 1. DO NOT CONNECT THE PRINTER TO THE COMPUTER. 2. Click on the install package and install the drivers and secondary programs you want. 3. ONCE the install program asks you to connect and turn it on, NOW you can connect it. 4. The install program will now work properly and you will swiftly be done with the setup process.

Sorry, but I have tried ALL versions of software and everything in Google, and it NEVER works. I just retired from 40 years of programming, so I know all of the (mentioned and unmentioned) tricks and attempted them all. I have 64-bit Windows 10 on multiple platforms, and does not work on any of them. I suspect that although the claim is Windows 10 64-bit compatibility, I suspect this was never tested on this platform.

Certain ones. They have to have cloud. Cannon has a list if the ones that are compatible. Mg2522 won't I've read.
